Short version. We purchased a new bedroom set from Lucas Furniture, with the understanding that Ken Lucas would do a special finish for us. When I questioned him about the poor workmanship when it was delivered I got yelled at! and told to just return for a refund on two occasions. We were blow away by his temper, outbursts and insults. I tried to speak with Kandi Lucas about our dilemma and she told me “It’s just furniture”. Every piece had to go back to respray the clear coat because it was so poorly done, leaving voided stripes. Some areas had raised woodgrain without any clear coat at all. Not only do we now have 2 different levels of shine on 2 pieces, because Ken changed products in the middle of the job, there is overspray on entire front of dresser. They were very careless when pieces went back and badly damaged 2 drawer edges, chipping veneer on one, and stained the felt lining inside one drawer. There was a THICK layer of sanding dust inside all pieces and all drawers were covered in dust inside and out. Delivery guys helped me clean it all up. We saved up to buy a nice bedroom set for our 45th wedding anniversary and this is what we sadly got from Lucas Furniture. It is hard to believe this kind of workmanship, irrational behavior, non-communication and carelessness is thought acceptable by any business. She asked us what we wanted and I started to say what we were looking for before she cut me off stating they wouldn't have anything we are looking for. She started to tell us to go to an outlet where there would be "cheaper" stuff obviously assuming we couldn't afford anything in her store even with their 70% off sale already store wide. We were honestly coming in to purchase as we are attempting to refurnish a room in our home. I wish I could've looked around more than the first ten feet of the store before I was essentially ushered out. Coming from a retail background, her attitude and the attitude of her co-workers around her was extremely rude and disrespectful. I don't comprehend why she wanted us out of the store so fast without even letting us look at some of the displays. Read moreI purchase dining room chairs at Lucas furniture. I was very pleased with the customer service given to me by Milissa Davis. I visited the showroom several times over a three week period. I was even allowed to take home one of their chairs and wood stain samples to check it out in my living space. Milissa was very helpful, patient, and friendly. She contacted the manufacturer twice for me when I wanted to look at fabric swatches and when I had a specific question. Milissa never acted like I was an imposition but rather treated me like her favorite customer. Thanks to her I was able to make a decision on the right chair style and wood tone for my dining room.
