9/15/25 I think the Cracker Barrel remodel is a positive though now it looks like a non-starter that it will happen. CB is LOUD and better acoustics would be nice. Automating the kitchen? Fine. Trying new menu items? Good. The logo change was dumb. The LGBTQIA+ nonsense needs to go away and be replaced with a single-minded passion for customers and quality. Treating everyone with dignity should be a given, not fodder for trendy, faddish corporate virtue signaling. Quality is still poor: We ordered breakfast. Biscuits were dry, crumbly and flavorless. The present patty sausage lacks flavor--I miss the old "red tint" sausage, which was distinctive and full of flavor. Even the tea, previously on par with McAlister's pretty good tea, seemed weak. I'm open to other restaurant options at this point. That's a bummer as I have been a CBRL shareholder and love the company. Oh and Steak-n-Shake CEO Biglari's criticisms are a pot calling a kettle black. Steak-N-Shake is a train wreck. He needs to shut up and get back in his lane. Finally, the wait staff at CB Kokomo was very good. Restaurant work is hard work and we have never been disappointed with the servers.
3/6/25 The quality has definitely slipped. The thin-sliced bacon was wimpy, overcooked and so crisp it fell apart. There was no smoked or savory flavor to it all, just a flavorless piece of something crispy. The sawmill gravy was not well mixed and water separated and pooled at the bottom of the gravy bowl. It was chilly, CB is always noisy and I hope the remodel helps acoustics. I hope the new CEO can get things turned around. I want Cracker Barrel to thrive!
An earlier review:
The meatloaf was pretty good. The brown gravy had excellent beef flavor and I wonder if it came from a new supplier. The beef in the meatloaf seemed a lower quality than in the past. I also miss the old patty sausage and availability of a chef's salad, a great low carb option! Still, the quality was very good overall and the service exceptional. I'm back from Bob Evans after a hiatus during CB's "woke" experiment. The interior acoustics could use help for us baby boomers with diminished hearing. Still, I very...

I arrived with plenty of time to eat before I need to be at a scheduled meeting that I had. Took 10 minutes before I was greeted by a waiter or waitress. Another 10 minutes to get my drink that I had ordered. 20 minutes after that I left the restaurant without my meal. As I was going to be late for my meeting if I didn't leave right then. 40 minutes I said at the table and waited without receiving my meal. Then when I went to can voice my complaint and let them know that I wasn't going to be able to wait any longer, I was told the manager was on the line and they were being slam so I wouldn't be able to speak to a manager and they were sorry. Needless to say I'm not happy with the service that I didn't receive today at Cracker Barrel. And it's a Monday afternoon before six you would think it wouldn't be that busy. And if they were they can at least communicate with their customers that they were trying to get the order to them in a prompt manner which I did not receive either.
