I don’t remember our servers name but he was a young polite black kid who seemed extremely new and undertrained. We arrived at 7:14 pm and was not seen nor asked for drinks until 15 minutes after being seated. It was another 10 minutes or so before our orders were taken, then it took well over an hour to get anything we ordered. There were a few other tables seated and waiting for food as well. After watching the kitchen staff play around and the servers hangout around the drink station, while one waitress kept hanging around a particular table laughing and joking we asked when we would receive our food and the waitress Whitney stated rudely they’ve been busy but yet there were tables that had been full of dirty dishes since we arrived and the counter at the kitchen station was full all the way across with multiple dishes that no one was touching. After waiting about 10 more minutes we received our food which was cold. After eating we had to find our waiter to get our check and when he went to Whitney who had been standing at the table right behind us for quite some time laughing was asked to show him how to get our check and she replied loudly and directly to her table when they said it was ok to help him first “he will wait because my tables are more important and they come first and that he will be fine” the then proceeded to brag about how she is training for management. She was even pushing her tables orders through that were seated well after us while making our waiter wait to place his orders. I as a customer and a mother did not appreciate the way she spoke to the young boy what so ever! It was very rude and unprofessional. I used to enjoy IHOP and ate there frequently but the last few visits just get worse and worse so we will no longer be returning. We were appreciative of half our bill being removed for our table only being visited twice and having to wait an unreasonable amount of time for food but I strongly feel the night staff needs extra training in service and manners not only to customers but to do...
Read moreA few things to keep in mind for this review. When I critique a place I do not rate on the corporation but the local establishment itself, the product, cost/quality ratio and the service quality provided.
The Kokomo IHOP in my opinion is a bit of a gem. First of all it is one of the only 24 hour food/service providers left in Kokomo, IN since COVID-19. It may be the only sit down restaurant where you can satisfy your craving 24/7! The question? Is it worth your while? I say yes. The biggest reason? The employees:) Yes folks, real live humans lol. These are great people, who love to see you smile and enjoy your time while there. Sure the occasional slip up happens with an order or service provided but in general they are on top of it! The managers work hard to ensure things run smoothly and fix issues promptly when notified. The servers are kind, hard workers and genuinely are glad to have you there;) The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable for single diners and large groups. What about food?? They have a new menu as of 2023 with tons of options to satisfy generally everyone. The food is also quite good! I recently tried the new Spicy Poblano Omellette (poblano hollandaise sauce added on top) and it was really good👍 Accompanied by some pancakes with blueberry syrup and coffee to drink! Very satisfied:) The only reason food is a 4 and not 5 stars is because of ingredients and recipes provided by the company. Not to say they are bad by any means, just not the absolute best you could get. With that said the chefs are really good. They take pride in their craft and aim to provide you with food you will enjoy and cooked to the best of their abilities. They actually care if you like your food lol. That's a big plus in my eyes:) So to wrap up. Kokomo IHOP is great! Whether it's a late night snack, a tasty breakfast or big dinner, they have you covered! Stop in and try it yourself. From the food to the service you will...
Read moreI am a big huge breakfast fan & had been craving iHop for over a year but didn't have anyone to go with. Not too long ago, after getting off work at night. A friend & I decided to visit the Kokomo location. It was close to midnight when we arrived. Half the restaurant was closed so we were seated in what used to be the smoking room. The environment was cool... We did sit the the dining room for almost an hour before getting our food. The wait time was weird because the only people dining in were the 2 of us, a guy who was eating by himself & a table of 4 guys. I did see a DoorDash driver appear to pick up an order but noticed no other pick ups while there. There was no silverware at the table the waiter sat us at & we had to ask several times for silverware before he grabbed silverware from another table & gave it to us. I didn't notice him replace the other tables silverware so I'm guessing that's probably how my table ended up without it too. I ordered strawberry cheesecake pancakes & at one point, while waiting, I overheard someone yelling "How do you make the strawberry cheesecake pancakes? I've never made them before." When I got my pancakes, there was strawberry but no cheesecake at all. So I paid for special pancakes that I didn't receive & that was very disappointing. Also my friend ordered a orange juice & a Coke to drink. He requested the juice be brought out with our food. Well our waiter forgot to bring the orange juice & when brought the food. He did end up removing the charge for the orange juice when we got the bill & let him have the orange juice anyways. My friend thought the orange juice tasted weird. I took a sip & can confirm that the orange juice tasted a bit "off"... I dreamed about my next trip to iHop for over a year & it was definitely a...
