Your first impression on entering The Art of Disney will be "Wow! There are a surprising number of fantastic artists who have sold their souls to Disney!" Now, as I've admitted in other reviews, I tire easily of Disney princesses (compliments of my 2 beautiful daughters) and my once fondness for Disney movies has faded in my old age.
But..... this place is just awesome. I am a huge art nerd and a big pop culture guy. There really is some killer artwork in here. Much of it is severely over-priced and not something I would be likely to hang in my living room but it is a feast for the eyes and really will take you into a fantasy world when you visit.
My only real complaint with the store is the lack of Star Wars and Marvel art. There are piles and piles of awesome geeky artwork out there but none of it was on display here. I wanted to find the curator and educate him on the missing opportunity. It's probably better that this stuff wasn't stocked here as my wallet would be significantly more empty.
The is no doubt though that this is a must-visit place if you...

I could spend hours in this store. It's set up like an art gallery with Disney-themed originals available for purchase by renowned and local artists. The sheer variety of mediums--from digital to traditional, 2D to 3D--means you're sure to find something that appeals to your personal sense of decorum. Disney favorites like Beauty and the Beast are displayed next to cult classics like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. There's also a collection of autographed prints and scenes from Disney films available for purchase (if you have a big enough wallet!).
Sometimes an animator or artist is active in the store, and you can pay to have a Disney character sketched that you can then keep. Recently, smaller-sized duplicates of some of the art have also been available for sale, if you'd like a keepsake within your budget.
If you're a connoisseur of high-end art, this may well become your favorite store at Disney Springs. Come ready to have your senses and...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING!! As many times as I have been to Disney springs for some reason , I guess because it’s tucked in the back, I never saw this place. I literally watched an artist Monica draw a portrait of the seven dwarfs, and it was literally incredible, I was holding my breath for real. You get to watch them in real time, but you also get to see a camera like a Birdseye view of the drawing on the TV behind the artist as well. They have the coolest selection of items, and I was lucky enough to be there to see Monica drawing as well as another artist Rob. I bought one of Rob’s prints, and then I was so compelled to buy something from Monica, because she was just so talented. I ordered a custom drawing of maleficent with her bird and I am speechless. I love it so much. I wish I could reach out to Monica and thank her personally. I am honored to own such a beautiful work of art , made for me. THANK YOU MONICA !!! I will own this...
