Well, I paid almost $1,000 for a 30 day trial. Learn from my mistake. DO NOT sign a 12-month contract. Customer service is NOT their strong suit. The coaches? Fantastic. The workouts? Crowded, but fun. The business side? Not so much. They make it clear they’d rather squeeze out a fee than keep a loyal customer. That tells you everything you need to know.
**an answer to their response: I genuinely enjoyed my time at Burn Boot Camp and had every intention of staying. You’re right—I waited as long as I could, hoping the Ogden location would appear to be open soon (this was the end of January 2025), since driving 30 minutes each way wasn’t sustainable long-term. And yes, a 12-month contract was signed.
But here’s where things became problematic: I was under the impression that I was signing up for a 30-day trial, not locking myself into a full-year commitment. I assumed the 12-month agreement would begin after the trial. When I expressed concern and tried to clarify this, I was told, “Too bad, you signed a 12-month contract.”
My takeaway? Don’t rely on verbal explanations—read every word of what you’re signing. Unfortunately, I trusted what I was told rather than verifying the contract details for myself. That mistake cost me nearly $1,000.
Did this business take advantage of a customer acting in good faith? Absolutely. But I’ve learned a valuable (and expensive) lesson. In the end, they may have gained short-term revenue, but lost long-term trust and goodwill.
And the month-to-month option, I'm sure was mentioned - but I was clear that I was willing to do the 12-month contract AFTER the 30-day trial....actually, I learned yesterday in court that it was only 28 days, not the advertised 'during the month of January'. As mentioned above, and the argued point really, I didn't realize the contract I was signing locked me in immediately. Had I known the trial wasn't really a trial, I would've taken the pricier month-to-month without hesitation. Hindsight is 20/20, but transparency at the start would've saved us all a lot of time (and me a lot of money).
And yes, I contacted the gym on the LAST day- but still within the 30-day window. That's the key point I want anyone. reading this to understand. I was held to a contract, that I didn't fully know I was even in, that was missed by 24 hours (although I feel I was within the 30 days). This whole dispute is over 24 hour period. And cost me $786. Over one day. That's how rigid their policy is. And this post is really just to help future clients to be...
Read moreBurn Boot Camp is my favorite place to go. They have like 2 all womens classes in the morning with Childwatch where I attend the 1030am one with my 1 yr old daughter. I am 300+ lbs and been attending for 2 weeks now. If you are looking for a place to build your confidence, improve your mental health and break habits of negative thinking then this is the place to go.You will never feel bored or that things have become repetitive because they do different training routines every single day. The trainers are very profesional and exceptionally motivating. They help you during training recognize your strengths and consistently compliment, encourage and mention you by name. You leave feeling like a brand new human being. Its definitely worth the money. You are not paying for a workout, you are paying for an experience of a lifetime that you wont get twice. There are focus meetings or one on one meetings with the trainers, group dinners, motivational messages they text you every few days, tags and posts on social media etc. Their Childwatch members not only watch your kids but encage them in different activities such as painting. I could write a novel on how this program has changed my life in just 2 weeks but I am going to leave some space for others...
Read moreGood place for a workout, but if you try and cancel with them they do not take the hint. Multiple calls and we still are being charged. This is ridiculous and they require a "waiver" to be filled out for you to cancel and if you cancel "improperly" (such as calling, talking to a person and saying you want to cancel) they will continue to charge you. Had to call my bank to dispute the charge because they will not stop charging me $144. This is ridiculous and you should not be able to make cancelling your membership such a hassle. This type of behavior is specifically targeted at people with busy lives so that they forget to fill out a form to cancel a membership, so then you forget and get charged for another month you did not use. I should be able to call your office, and cancel my membership right then and there. This has been a terrible experience and I will not forget this when coworkers ask for a recommendation for a...
