Being that I hadn't eaten frozen yogurt in some years before checking out this place on a neighborhood trip with a friend last week, I didn't know what to expect of this place. Of course, not having visited a Tappy's before might have made setting an expectation unreasonable, but I'm so glad I went here.
Despite only one cup size being available (at least on Wednesday last week), the potential portions are quite generous, and the variety of flavors is wonderful.
The diversity of toppings is even more vast. From gummy sharks to chocolate rocks, the assortment certainly "rang the bells of my childhood." My final price was nearly $20, but I may have loaded my cup past the brim with the toppings. :)
For some reason, however, the gummy candy toppings were stiff. I'm not sure if this is usual or if I just got unlucky with them on this particular visit, but, if it is usual, I might not recommend putting them on top of the frozen yogurt due to their stiff texture against the softer yogurt (especially once it melts). The gummies weren't bad themselves, though. I'd just advise being careful biting into them. Again, perhaps I was just unlucky with them when I came.
Looking at the big picture, it's a unique establishment that'll certainly impress your friends, and I'd call the prices reasonable. Definitely not something you want every week but a premier treat if you're...
Read moreThe employee, who states his name is "Jose", started closing down the stations at 9:10pm. We all told him we wanted the fruit and he just kept mumbling under his breath or to his headset. He said it's frozen and he has to let it thaw even though it's not closing time. He was rolling his eyes the entire interaction and several other people mentioned his behavior to him, and he just dismissed it. There was a bunch of people who were waiting to speak to him and he just was at the front talking to himself or headset. Me and two other people just ended up throwing their yogurt away because we wanted the fruit and he had just put it away. Never coming back. I seriously would consider re-training this employee (leaning heavy on people skills). He was condescending and scoffed the entire time. Also, on another note several of the yogurts weren't working or were out. At 9:30pm, some new people came in and asked for the fruit and he changed his story and said "We ran out". We informed them it wasn't true and he just put...
Read moreThey’ve sort of lost the plot. Someone made the stupid decision to put a basket of sample cups out where people who are not buying any froyo can stand around basically stealing cup after cup after cup from every machine and with their kids AND adults, completely blocking people who are there to purchase it. There were at least six people doing this at a time. They were slopping yogurt everywhere, wasting it letting out big globs to melt on the drains. This adult woman with about a four year old, doing this over and over making a mess, stealing it, blocking legit customers. And what a great lesson, lady. How do you think she’s going to act in the school lunchroom in about a year? Really...
