Good steakhouse, located at intersection of Hwy 121 and I-35 in Lewisville.

To start with, this Saltgrass location had a great vibe. I came over at 5:30pm, so before the evening rush. I was welcomed right away and taken to my table quickly. The restaurant was about 75% full.

I was greeted right away by the waitress and offered drinks. When she returned,, I ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, then a house salad and 6 oz. Maudeen's Center-cut Filet, medium, with a baked potato.

The Appetizer: (1st pic) Wow! 6 great big shrimp perched around a serving bowl filled with a homemade pico-de-gallo style cocktail sauce on a bed of lettuce. Looked super inviting and did not disappoint! Succulent chilled shrimp, a delicious chutney-style cocktail sauce and lemon wedge to drizzle over them. Practically a meal in itself! So delicious, I kept two to nibble on during the main course.

The House Salad: (2ns pic) Delicious and beautiful! Crisp iceberg lettuce with fresh tomatoes, croutons and grated cheddar cheese made this a favorite! I had the balsamic vinaigrette to top it off. Superb!

The Main Dish: (3rd & 4th pic) Suspect... yeah, when served, it didn't look too appealing. Steak and potato looked over-cooked. They were. The steak was almost well done, with no juice left. The potato looked and tasted like it was thrice baked and was just a pile of nasty carbs, made worse with the accouterments. Awful!

I called the waitress over and explained that, while the shrimp cocktail and salad were both appealing and delicious, the main feature (the Saltgrass steak) was terribly lacking. She took the steak and potato back, apologizing profusely and promising to rectify things.

Within a minute, I had the head waiter at my table, who also apologized and promised to bring a perfectly cooked steak and potato right away, if I would allow him.

(5th pic) True to his word, 11 minutes later, a perfectly cooked eight oz medium, center-cut filet was placed before me, accompanied by an outstanding, fluffy and delicious baked potato.

The rest of the evening was spent enjoying the delicious, juicy steak, earthy potato and the last two chilled, succulent shrimp!

While the waitress could have been a bit more attentive (filling drinks and checking in), the service was good.

Three stars because the house should not have served such a lousy baked potato from the previous day and for over-cooking the 6 oz steak.

Four stars for the service.

Five stars for quickly and correctly remedying the steak and potato and for the awesome shrimp cocktail and house salad.

Please change the policy of reusing potatoes if you don't have a fool-proof way of maintaining their integrity.

Thanks for saving-the-day and keeping me happy! ...

I'm a saltgrass rewards member and as a Houstonian I'm a supporter of Tillman brands. @tillmanfrittata & eat at this chain often. Tonight was HORRIBLE!! We ordered dinner to go at 7:44pm call in. It was for 8 people so not small order nor huge. They said it would be ready at 815-825. We arrived at 820. (They could have just said 9!!). The food was not ready until 907pm!! Did they forget our order? I dont know. I know we had 4 hungry kids who ate very late. There excuse is we were busy and had alot if door dash orders. Well I'm not door dash!!! I called you directly and ordered from saltgrass. I expect better service or a REALISTIC pick up time!!. I value my time especially on Christmas eve when I'm traveling from Houston to Dallas to spend quality time with my family that I only see a couple times a year, not sit at saltgrass for 40 extra minutes. What kind of saltgrass is this? Our family lives 2.1 miles away and Everything was cold when we got home to eat!! Literally a 7 min drive. Cold. Not warm, not like warm. So we got to microwave it!

2 kids fell asleep with no dinner. 3 year old, and 2!!

Other issues: Other than all the cold food!!! ALL! Several things were missed on the order. We caught them there. Ceasar dressing. Got a salad with no dressing! 2 sides of broccoli missed. They missed an entire chicken sandwich too! Cost us additional 15 minutes! No aujus with the prime rib (was not caught until too late!) Stale chips!! Salmon was undercooked!!! Seriously fish takes so little time to cook!! Was not edible Some things were wrong with the order we did not catch! Missing side of frys, and Chicken sandwich was overcooked and originally forgotten

I referred to my phone records. We ordered correctly and they severely messed up!

What did the manager offer my wife and her sister who went? 2 darn free desserts! So my priceless family time on Christmas eve is only worth 2 desserts!!! I think not!

Maybe I need to throw away my saltgrass rewards card? I'm going to call management or corporate. This is unacceptable. They should have offered much more than 2 desserts especially for a Saltgrass rewards member?? On a side note The poor lady working to go was wonderful and helpful but was overwhelmed and needed help perhaps they needed more staff on Christmas Eve? The bar tendar was rude and said "to go is not my job" when we asked her for an update...she did alot of nothing as we waited perhaps she could have assisted her coworkers.

So many issues beyond just our order being late. Words cannot express my disappointment at my wife being...

We went here a week or so back and most of the locations I have been to have always been excellent. This particular night it was anything but that. My girl ordered the fillet medium rare with broccoli and a loaded baked potato. I ordered the sirloin medium rare with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Our order finally comes out and the server is off somewhere right away. She did not wait and see if the steaks were cooked properly nor did she return in a timely manner to check. My steak was cooked near medium while her fillet was still cold in the middle. After waiting a few minutes our server never returned so I flagged someone else down and told them of the issue and they agreed her steak was still raw. They said they would put it back on and it would be good to go. I sat there patiently waiting for her food to come so we could eat together. It comes back after a few minutes and the outside is blackened beyond what should be acceptable. She cuts into it and it is still raw, I ask at this point if they have a new chef and they explain no they’ve been with us for years. I then ask who cooks the broccoli and they looked confused, they replied the same person and when they looked at it they could tell the broccoli was also raw. The manager comes and says they are going to comp our food and will even prepare hers to go. What this meant and I didn’t notice until later is they were comping what they served us but the fillet to go we were still charged for. The only bright spot to this ordeal was our waitress who did as much as she could to make our night better. It was not her fault the steak was cooked improperly. She made it her mission to make sure that we never ran out of our drinks or bread and was...

One of the well managed SaltGrass steakhouse in the DFW area❤️❤️👏🏽👏🏽 This is our family’s to go place when we crave a juicy steak. Consistency of their service and the food is remarkable. After covid mess, this location bouncing back nicely and it is so good to see this place becoming live again. Today, Travis was our server. He was very attentive, polite and did an excellent job taking care of us. We ordered Pat’s Ribeye and blackened Red fish. Steak was amazing. Tender, juicy and flavorful. One of the customer favorites “ Brussels sprouts with honey siracha sauce” is now back on the menu. It is really delicious. One small complaint… they used to add a pat of butter on the grilled steak. It was really good. It really enhanced the flavor. But with updated menu they made a change to baste the butter as they cook. It make the steak too rich and heavy to eat. A good steak only need salt and pepper and a pat of butter on top at the end of the grilling. Travis told us that we can request not to baste the butter at the time of order. Tip: if you are not a Landry select Member, please join. It is worth it. You accumulate points as you dine.
