"Service" in Name Only. We do several shows a year and regularly deal with facilities management companies. I can confidently say RES is the worst I've ever dealt with. We had our equipment shipped to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center where we were to have a booth set up for a show. The tracking number said it had been delivered, but when we got to our booth, it was empty. More on that in a bit. We went to the office to ask about it, and the woman at the desk assured us it had been delivered. We assured her that it had not. This went back and forth, with her even calling the worker, who also assured us it had been delivered. So one of my colleagues walked back and confirmed it was empty. So the desk woman radioed the worker, who angrily said "I know I dropped it off but I'll drive by the booth." She also started going through all the charges due - and was ready to accept payment. Funny thing is, charges are based on weight, and as we would soon find out, they actually hadn't delivered our equipment and therefore they didn't know the weight, so there's no way she could've known the total - which turned out to be much lower than her quote. We called her on that later and she said, "Well I was just giving you an estimate. I would've waited til the actual charges came in to charge your credit card." We left her and made our way to the booth, where we eventually met the worker who had sworn our equipment was there. He looked around in disbelief, then buzzed off in his forklift. While I was waiting for him to come back I had to quickly get out of the way while a forklift came THROUGH our booth. The worker in the forklift came back, sheepishly lugging our equipment but also blaming the "unclear booth number" at the top of our booth. After dropping off our equipment we asked if he'd be bringing our tables and chairs too. He shrugged and said, "There aint no tables on the order, sorry." So we went back to the office a third time, and were told we had to have ordered the tables and chairs separately (even though our paperwork said they were included with the booth charge). So we ordered 2 tables and 6 chairs - which probably would've been cheaper to order custom made mahogany desks and leather executive chairs than the junk they showed up with. We asked where the covers were for them, and were once again told "Well you didn't order table cloths." So we trudged back over to the office and ponied up another couple hundred dollars. When the table cloth (singular) showed up it was dirty and stained. We asked where the cloth for the other table was, and were told "That's not our table so we don't have covers for those." Interesting - they certainly charged us a pretty penny to rent someone else's table. We then noticed there was no power at our booth, again, not something we'd ordered because the paperwork said it was included with the booth charge. So we paid another $150 to have an extension cord dropped off. Once we finally got up and going we only had 5 min or so before customers started coming. To add insult to injury, RES workers kept shortcutting THROUGH our booth - even during customer meetings. It was totally unprofessional and they kept doing it even after we asked them not to. Now, to top it all off, they've now hit my college with unauthorized charges on her credit card. Total cost for the booth, "storage" fees, deliver fees, rentals, and electricity was somewhere north of $1,500. We will be strongly advising the group to never, ever do...
