Red Bar — Restaurant in Leyden Township

We arrived to the bar at 10 pm, it wasn't overly full. It's seat yourself place. But every table we approached was dirty. A kind older gentleman man rushed up and quickly clean one table for us. We had to wait for waitress a while, she didn't even hear out what we need/wanted and rushed off. Came back much later, rush took our order (we told her we are splitting the meal) and didn't communicate about the options and when we tried to get a certain drink, so we were asking questions but she didn't bother to hear us out. Anyway, through miscommunication we got the drink we didn't care for. When we tried to correct that she said I'll be right back. Just ran off. The other gentleman man brought our food, the burger 🍔 was sliced but on one plate. We got no napkins, and no utensils for the side. It was quite the experience eating my food AT A RESTAURANT with no plate, fork or napkins, one I prefer not to repeat. The only napkin (1 small napkin) I found was under a drink. The waitress came back long after we were done eating. So we never got to order that...

I have never experienced such horrible service and disrespect at this establishment. Not an exaggeration. I came in sat myself and waited a good 25 minutes. I kept trying to get the servers attention due to her taking orders of guest who arrived later. Her name was Gloria.

She was very unfriendly and would rush away every time I had something to say. I told her “respectfully the service here isn’t good is it?” Due to the wait time. She rushed off and I tell her to wait because I knew exactly what I wanted. She rushed off and would cut me off before I could get a word out.

Thankfully PK a different server came and was patient hearing me out and was kind enough to bring Hailie the manager. She was kind enough to put my drink on the house and let me vent about the situation.

I hope this review serves as a training opportunity for Gloria. My advice is to be patient and treat everyone...

Pretty disappointing. Wasn’t expecting much to begin with - it is after all a hotel bar. However, traveling solo for work, I’m exhausted, it’ll do. However we failed meet an already low bar. Serving red wine at least a week old... when I said something I watched her repour from the same old bottle. I ordered chicken thighs. The entire dinner was microwaved. The gravy was congealed in such a way indicating it was refrigerated. ... when it was supposed to be lemon sauce, but I digress.

It gets better though. The asparagus was so tough, but not just tough - the kind of tough you get from microwaving it for no less than an hour. The best part were the completely raw carrots they probably forgot to microwave ...both being so tough they couldn’t be cut with a knife.

I did bring the issues up - at which point I was told “I’m sorry you didn’t like it, can I...
