Went here last night for a couple of drinks. Four, to be exact. Ended up spending $86 and change (before tip). For four drinks.
Now, full disclosure, their menu didnt price out the Buffalo Trace bourbon, and I didn’t ask. So that’s on me. But in any retail store that prices MSRP, a bottle of Buffalo trace is the same price as what these guys charge for a single shot. But because I didn’t ask, that’s why they get 2 stars and not 1.
The other reason they get 2 stars is because their drinks are inconsistent. I ordered my Buffalo trace as an old fashioned. The first one was decent. The second was barely drinkable.
I get that they are a restaurant inside of a hotel and that alone means prices are meant to put a hurt on your wallet. This seems egregious. I know, it’s on me for drinking in a hotel bar to begin with. Unfortunately, we didn’t know the area and we wanted convenience.
Regardless, I suggest...

Walked in and the Server at the front spent more time flirting with the ladies in front of us than helping us out, he was more concerned about them than actually getting us seated. Another Server had to have us seated after standing around when the original Server walked away, then the first host whose name I should’ve gotten but he was a middle aged white man, came and said “I’ll be right with you” and disappeared. The only reason he even said that, was because he was giving another patron that was seated next to us their receipt. It wasn’t until my partner made eye contact with him that he sent the other Server only for her to say “I will not be your server but can I get you anything to drink?” We decided to leave and head down to a local pizza spot a couple towns over who seated us and took our order...
Read moreI typically don't eat pizza however, seeing that this was a true coal fired oven. I decided to go against my meal plan and give it a shot.
I met the owner who is an incredible person, and explained to me the cost and how the coal heats the oven. A pizza can cook, and as little as three minutes in one of these ovens.
I had a heavy pour of the Pinot Noir, and I ordered the number one pizza.
To be honest, it pains me to give only four stars. However, I was expecting a little bit of crunch and a lot of flavor and sadly I was lacking both. The owner came over to check on me and said that he would've liked to seen more char on the crust and I also agree. It was a nice atmosphere with great service and enjoyable conversations with the staff. Could've used an extra 30 to 45 seconds given the pace at which the owner said it cooked as this one was a little too soggy...
