My daughter wanted to go to Hobby Lobby in Lima, Ohio for her birthday to spend her birthday money. As we were walking out, I was looking at the receipt and noticed we were charged full price for a pillow that was supposed to be 50% off and a dream catcher that was supposed to be 40% off. I went back in to the refund counter and the lady told me if I bring her the signs, we will get it taken care of. I went back and got the sign for the pillows stating they were 50% off. I walked over to the dream catchers and re-read the sign and it has the Springtime Brand listed, which the dream catcher my daughter had picked up was not that brand. So I left the sign and intended on using the 40% off coupon, since it was the only full priced item. I walk back up to the refund counter and the lady checking me out had called the Home Essentials manager up to the counter. I handed her the sign for the 50% off pillows and was starting to explain that the dream catcher was not on sale but the 40% sign is with all the dream catchers that we're regular price and I would suggest moving the sign as it was confusing. The manager of the department said it's Springtime only these are not Springtime Brand. I was like I know, I'm trying to say that maybe the sign needs moved. The manager raised her voice starting to argue and I was like let me show you. Very loudly she was like yes, let's go look. As she is charging to the area where the dream catchers are she is pointing at the sign saying you need to read the labels this says Springtime and these are not those, by this point she is yelling at me and I finally asked her why she was yelling at me as I was the customer. She just looked at me and said you're not getting this on sale. I asked if I could have my dream catcher back, as I already purchased it and she gave it to me and walked away. Unfortunately, I did say a few choice words to her as my blood was boiling on how she treated me and embarrassing me in front of a lot customers. Never once did she stop talking over me to listen to what I was trying to say. I was just trying to make a suggestion. I can handle being wrong and handle being told I'm wrong but there is a tasteful and professional way of doing so. The ladies at the front assisted me with my refund on the pillow and a refund so I could use my 40% off. I have NEVER in my whole life been treated so poorly as a customer. It disappoints me as a Faith based business, they would not only employ but have such a rude person in a...
Read moreLoved it! It was my second trip. I found what I was looking for! For the hobbyist, it really doesn't matter what you're looking for, you can find it here. I was reminded of my parents and my junior high art teacher. Everything that scratched that creative itch can be found here. I found lots of activities that I didn't have time to experiment with in my youth. We were able to find plenty of interesting art and craft supplies to pass the time with our grandchildren over the holidays. It's been a good number of years since junior high and the days of watercolors, modeling clay, paint, canvas, folk art and hobbies I hadn't thought about for a long time. The most creative thing I had done was doodling while talking on the phone for so many years. I was inspired to pick up paint brushes, Play-Doh and a box full of art supplies to keep three young children and three adults busy around the table singing Christmas songs for the extended holiday this past year. This second trip, I had more time to stroll around. I was reminded of the creativity inspired by my own parents. I was able to share stories with my own grandchildren about making toys, gifts and cards, instead of mass produced junk that ends up in some old box full of broken things and ultimately, some landfill. The stuff we crafted together will be proudly displayed for years to come. I hoped to inspire them with the feeling of magic given to me as a youth. I was just as excited as the kids! And when the next season rolls around, you'll find me there again, grandchildren in tow! Hobby Lobby helped me teach a valuable lesson. Thank you so much! I've never seen such a collection of creativity under One roof. I had not seen so many smiles and warmth since my early years. This is just what the doctor ordered to easily restore family connections lost to electronic devices. This is truly the original...
Read moreLet me first say I love this place! The 2-star is a warded because I was in line, and a woman in front of me had 3 medal buckets, and she said to the cashier that she believes that those were on sale for 50% off. The cashier looks at the sales ad and tells her no, not those, and the cashier even asks a manager, and she also agrees they are not on sale. The woman tells the cashier that there are many signs up back there. The woman puts back her buckets because they are not on sale. I had to go back to the store the next day, and I was on the next aisle over so out of curiosity I took a look and I found her buckets and the 3 signs that read 50% for the medal that sat on the table. I don't remember the verbiage. I spoke to 2 managers this to let them know and they blew me off... Hobby lobby as a whole needs to update...
