I was doing an exchange at my local Ulta store. The manager came to do the exchange. She was having a couple of issues with doing the process so she decided to do a return and just repurchase the item I wanted which is fine. But come to find out, she returned the item to my debit card instead of doing a merchandise credit so I can repurchase the new item. It wouldn't been so much of a problem if it was for me but it was a gift I bought for my daughter. So what if it wasn't my debit card I explained to the manager, she said well tell the person it's credited back to there card, but it's a christmas gift that I just got the wrong item and just want to exchange it. She tells me it's too late I can't reverse the return. So I was stuck paying over $100 for an item I already bought. So if people come in and exchange or return christmas gifts the store will just credit the person's account instead of giving them in-store credit. That's kinda bad because that person is now out of a christmas gift. I was very frustrated about this whole deal. I worked at a service desk at a retail for years so I know we would never do that.
