I found Farzana’s salon on Magicksleek’s website when looking for their affiliate salons. Farzana is a very nice person and establishes trust connection with you quickly. She also is super quick for delivering exactly what is asked. Considering the length of time she has been in this business in the area, it’s hard not to trust her in first place.That’s where all the good things ended unfortunately for me.

I am used to having Japanese hair straightening done for more than 10 years. It was a couple years I stopped that treatment knowing the harsh chemicals. I researched this time and came up with raving reviews about “magic sleek” straightening and how it’s a much healthier option. Her salon happens to be “the only” salon in the area near my home that has affiliation with that brand. Hence, I tried to get an appointment from her to try this new method.

When I arrived for my appointment, she also highly recommended the new method and confirmed it’s healthier than Japanese… so I was super confident about my decision and proceeded with the procedure. Once done, I asked her if it’s possible to get slight highlights as well and she mentioned it’s risky, but can do it quickly. Considering the risk, to get a better coverage, she recommended I get highlighted hair extensions so I agreed. I paid 1000+$ for the entire process and was happy I could get what I wished!

A couple days later my nightmare started when washing my hair after treatment. In the shower big and small strands of my hair started falling apart and lost its natural elasticity altogether. Every shower I collected excessively huge amounts of hair like cotton candy and since I have small children and family obligations to arrange, I never thought too much about it. However, since January that I got this treatment, I realized gradually that have lost almost all of my hair (falling apart and breaking in shower each time).

I don’t usually have time to write reviews. However, I felt that I should share my experience with people who are similarly looking for healthy permanent hair straightening products. While Farzana’s salon failed to provide any warning signs about it, there is also not much evidence/information about this product in internet. My two cents message in this review is: Please do deeper research and also stay (as much as you possibly can) away from trying out new products which especially rave about their product and how it is healthier without much further knowledge (and case studies) shared about it. Shes a nice person and is passionate about what she does. I respect that, but I got the Silk Smoothing treatment and I recommend NOBODY GET THIS TREATMENT. I spent 500 dollars to constantly have my hair in a bun because when its down not only does it not look nice at all, so much hair falls out its embarrassing. I pretty much spent 500 dollars to lose my hair. I spent 500$ for all my hair to shed at an unprecedented rate, I've never shed so much in my life. I’ve been going to Farzana for over 10 years. Farzana is friendly and caring- always offers coffee and tea upon arrival.She does a fantastic job on my hair! I’ve personally get cut,color and keratin treatments which always make me feel and look rejuvenated.She currently has her own shop which reflects the care she offers you as a client. It is a spa like experience. She offers other services such as extensions and wigs. And, her new shop offers the space and privacy needed.
