Nordstrom Rack Store #351 May 3, 2023 between 4:50-4:58PM
My mom and I had a horrific experience here today. I stepped into my dressing room and as my mom was going into her dressing room, one of the staff yelled out to her, "Can I help you?". My mom doesn't really speak English, so she said no and walked into her dressing room. I then opened my door and asked her if there was a problem to which the employee replied, "She needs to tell me how many clothes she's bringing into the dressing room". It wouldn't be ill intentioned if she had asked even one other customer to provide this information. However, she did not ask me or anyone else before or after we had stepped in to provide that information. I had also gone into the dressing room earlier to try on some clothes and she did not ask me or anyone before or after I stepped in at that time. She only targeted my mom. When she asked 'can I help you?' to my mom, it wasn't to provide assistance, rather it was to intimidate her. Even after we got into our perspective dressing rooms, the employee did not asking anyone else stepping into the dressing rooms about how many items they are trying on.
At this point, I was flustered and emotional from what I have experienced through my mom. Later, we walk up to the employee and I tell her that she is being extremely disrespectful and that she is discriminating my mom. She tells me that she already told someone else and her manager as her manager is walking towards us. I talk with her manager, Mara, about happened. Mara tells me it's about consistency. Mara's response does not make sense because if the employee was being consistent, she wouldn't have pinned just my mom to ask if she can "help her" which she had no intention of doing nor was that actually what she was offering. Then Mara replied by saying that they are supposed to be asking the customers how many items they are trying on. I repeated that she did not ask a single person the first time I went into the dressing room nor did she ask a single person, other than my mom, the second time I went into the dressing room. This entire time, the employee is saying, "Liar. Liar. Liar. Liar. She's lying. She's a liar. Liar." as her manager and I are speaking. There was nothing else to say to say these two people so I asked the manager for her name and the employee's name. The manager's name is Mara, and she said she is not allowed to give the employee's name. And that was that. Mara, the manager, did not offer any support in this situation even as the employee was instigating and mocking us. I filed a complaint to their customer service line, and I asked to keep me up to date on the actions they are going to take. Because this all happened today, I will be waiting to hear back. This was absolutely degrading and so upsetting to experience, especially thinking that without me, she would have experienced that by herself with no one to speak up for her in that moment. If I wasn't there, it's possible that the harassment could have been escalated and that the employee would have further...
Read moreWe had such a horrible experience, that I will NEVER shop at that location again. Thanks to Angela C., Kip and Mara. I was so happy that I was able to find a beautiful sweater that was on clearance for $10, as we got to the register our cashier Angela C. Complimented the sweater and I shared I was so happy I was able to find such a great deal, she the proceeded to tell me the tag did not match the sweater. She proceeded to tell Kip who then took 5 mins with no luck on telling me the price, then Mara went to go check the price for about 10minutes to come back to say it is $50 and now to think about it she didn’t even double check it there was another discount since there was the red tag sale for clearance items. It appeared that they wanted to keep it for themselves. As we waited we also heard another customer about how they found a great deal on a clearance item that was a really good brand but no one QUESTIONED it. This whole ordeal took about 15 minutes of my time. This whole mess was a result of a Nordstrom rack employee and it resulted in this mess, that was upsetting and frustrating. This whole experience was a mess and they did NOT even try to fix it or even have empathy that I was upset and frustrated for THEIR mistake. Regardless of the price, it was the whole EXPERIENCE from these individuals that I will never shop there again. You can check my account that I have been a Nordstrom customer for years and have loved Nordstrom for their quality and CUSTOMER SERVICE. Unfortunately this no longer applies to Nordstrom rack Also to mention my family was with me and they will no longer shop...
Read moreOne of the worst Nordstrom Racks I've been to. I found an item with no price tag, which had been presumably removed from a pack of three. When I took the item to the register to get a price, the cashier had a condescending and off-putting attitude. She radioed someone to find the item, so that they could get a price even though she had quoted to me the estimated price for the 3-pack. That's fine, that's probably protocol anyway. She then left me at the register for about 10 minutes only to come back and say that the person she had radioed is still looking for the item and that otherwise she wouldn't be able to sell it. After about another 5 minutes she tells me that they can't sell the item. No apologies for my time wasted and also no explanation to what's going to happen to the shirt. If they can't sell it (which I don't believe is true, exceptions can always be made to make a sale), what's going to happen to it?
I've had better experiences at the Nordstrom Racks in Chicago where I'm not treated like someone trying to get a "steal." You're not being paid enough to act so arrogant. I came here because of my positive experiences with other Nordstrom Racks, but next time I'm in the area I'll just go to Marshalls.
There was another employee who seemed like the manager that was nicer, but not enough to intervene and allow me to...
