If you are staying in LA and want to be in the area of Venice Beach or use that as your launching point for your time in LA - I highly recommend the VENICE SUITES.
There are just far too many advantages to it that all add up to a great value and experience overall.
you're RIGHT on Venice Beach! (but you are just on the outskirts of the "busy" areas so you have some semblance of privacy and quiet - but close enough to be in back in the buzz within a few steps).
you have a complimentary parking spot IN A SECURITY GARAGE! (this is a rare find @ venice beach!)
the building is actually an apartment building and not a hotel - so you are actually renting a small apartment which is fantastic for many reasons. It's more practical/functional then a hotel rm, as well my lady and I loved "feeling" like we were actual locals while staying there rather than tourists. It added to the experience immensely!
incredible rooftop deck with gas range, sitting areas and lawn chairs. My lady and I decided to grocery shop and make dinner (again.. the small apartment thing vs hotel rm ~ we had full kitchen, dishes, coffee maker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer at our disposal!) and head on up to the rooftop to have dinner during sunset overlooking venice beach (and quiet, but near the buzz), and included an iPad Netflix movie night while on the rooftop deck. simply.. MAGNIFICENT!!!!!
Steps away from cafes, bars, etc. if you want to go that route.
VALUE! Of the places I priced out (even at Venice Beach) - Venice Suites was VERY COMPETITIVE in price (Randy! don't you dare raise the prices on my next stay because i said that! :) ).
Lastly.. Randy is fantastic and was great to work with. He is local in the office throughout the day if you need anything. And he supplies so much to help make your stay and your explorations in LA easy. he had guides and info sheets galore to tell you who delivers to the building if you want to order food delivery, etc.
And all with a little personality (the old-time elevator, the fun "lock boxes" with special dials (that I ended up not being able to solve, but Randy walked by just as we checked in and did it for us.. still a fun EXPERIENCE just to check in!)
We stayed in the studio apt (which is still better and more functional than a hotel/motel rm) but there are options to get 1br or more as well. This can even be vacation or long-term renting if you are doing business in teh area for a week or longer.
Well done Randy. Thanks so much for such a terrific vacation and letting us stay at your establishment. We can't...
Read moreWe had a nice, clean second floor room with a really comfortable bed and pillows. No A/C but the ceiling fan was ok. The room also had a fully equipped kitchenette, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, hob and small oven. ||The outside of the hotel is well presented and has an amazing mural covering the whole side. Inside the hotel is bright and fresh and looks recently painted. The front entrance is secure and we felt safe which is more than we did out in Venice boardwalk area where there are a lot of homeless people, some of whom are quite intimidating. ||During our stay we were woken up a few times during the night due to someone right outside the hotel shouting abuse and hollering intermittently and generally being a nuisance from around 02:30 onwards. Of course not the fault of the hotel but no one really seemed to do anything about this public nuisance so assume this is acceptable behaviour in this area?! ||Unfortunately we had no real view of anything except the car park below and building opposite, plus the homeless person sleeping on a mattress in the side street right outside our window (perhaps the same individual being a nuisance). ||There’s a great roof terrace with a BBQ area, a few tables, chairs and sun loungers and this area would be perfect to relax or catch sun downers, sadly the weather was not great during our one night visit so we never got to experience this. There are some coin operated washing machines and dryers on the terrace floor exit area. ||The parking lot next to the hotel is used as a private car park and you can valet park overnight for $45. ||Also note that currently you will still need to wear a face mask at this property.||We were happy with our room and the hotel although the surrounding areas including the boardwalk do not feel safe due to lots of homeless people loitering around and being a nuisance. I’m not sure we’ll be back...
Read moreEnjoyed my stay here in mid-March 2025. Of course the location (right on the Venice Boardwalk!) is beautiful and one-of-a-kind, and there are great restaurants nearby like the The Sidewalk Cafe, but I liked Venice Suites itself a lot, too, and will be coming back the next time I'm in the area for work. The people at the front desk, and the housekeeping people I interacted with, were helpful and friendly, and the front desk people gave me really helpful, specific info about local businesses, too. The rooftop deck, with its chairs and cool setup, is great—Had to make it up there and check out the view a couple times, even though it was super windy while I was there. It makes for really great pictures (as did the exposed brick in my unit). I also appreciated that the kitchen had everything I needed. I was there for over a week and was able to make my own food, which helped me feel more at home and made my business trip feel way more comfortable than it usually is—Like I said, def coming back! I think next time, I might even bring my dog, since it's pet-friendly (and she's quiet and well-behaved). Then I'll feel super at home. Also . . . Marilyn Monroe has stayed here, and it's the building from Romy & Michele's High School Reunion! Yes, I'm obsessed with Romy & Michele, but even if you're not a movie trivia fiend, it's pretty cool that this building has been such an iconic part of such an iconic American landmark for so long. By staying here, you get to soak in the history and uniqueness of the area while also staying comfortable. Whether you're staying for a week and a half on business, doing a long girls' weekend for a bachelorette, or planning something in between, you really can't go wrong...
