I have been a loyal Paul Smith customer for over 30 years in several locations in the UK , since I was a college student. I have had a lot of items by them , have given them as presents etc , in summary Paul Smith has been one of my favourite designers since I started buying things from the bargain basement in the Avery Row shop in London in the 80s.I went to this shop 2 years ago while in Los Angeles , bought a sweatshirt and was very kindly assisted etc All this lengthy intro , is to explain that yesterday we went again to this Melrose location and found it totally changed : only rows of executive suits or pieces to match the style of tech CEOs or the like were on display . Ok , nothing to say about this if it is the type of customer they want . We were very kindly and thoroughly assisted by Luigi (thanks !) and left the store politely and in a friendly manner The problem happened when I tried to take a picture on the infamous Pink wall and the security warden in a very hostile and unfriendly manner told us that we could not stay there ( on the city public sidewalk ?) because it was “temporarily closed” ( no sign anywhere ). We left humiliated and completely disappointed. Never ever again I will set foot in this store after being treated almost like a kind of supposed to be criminal . Bye bye...
Read moreI have been a Paul Smith fan for years, and have purchased multiple products from their global stores, many of those from this Melrose location. I was in the store for over 5 minutes looking around, and the two staff members who were helping other customers didn’t even acknowledge my existence. Just a simple, “Hello, I will help as soon as I’m finished with this customer” would have been fine with me. I found the card holder, looked around to see if anyone would help, and was completely ignored. So, I walked out and spent my money elsewhere on Melrose. What a shame that this store has lost its...
Read moreWe stopped in Paul Smith this weekend while visiting LA and taking a stroll down Melrose. We were greeted by the most friendly host, Scott! I've been on the hunt for a new wallet for a while and had very specific requirements for what I wanted. Scott pulled several options for me and ultimately helped me find the perfect fit. I'm thrilled with my new happy Paul Smith wallet! You know sometimes you shop at designer brands, or really anywhere these days, and don't have the "look" that sales associates think you should have to give you the time of day. But we were humbled that Scott was so very friendly to us even though it didn't seem like we intended to make a purchase. High praise for Scott! Thanks for taking such great...
