My wife and I decided to go to Taco City Hikes Point because we pass by it every time I bring her to bingo. As usual I read reviews before I go to any new restaurant. The reviews here have the same mix of good and bad and we found nothing that deterred us from going. When we arrived we sat outside while finishing a phone call. We were happy to see an employee came out to the patio and checked the trash and to make sure it was clean. When we went in, the place was very clean, music was not loud or over bearing and atmosphere was really nice. We went to the counter to order and dispite me looking at the menu online I still had no idea what to get and yes my wife is used to me doing this :). The employee at the counter was very patient and understanding. While I perused the menu my wife ordered the nachos with steak and I decided on the Wet Burrito (both pictured below). Yes we went to Taco City and neither of us tried the tacos. Maybe next time. Less than 5 minutes after sitting, our food arrived at the table. Both meals were nice and warm and looked really good. My wife was in heaven with the nachos and I have to say the burrito was fantastic. The steak on the nachos was seasoned perfectly and so tender and the chicken in the buritto was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The prices on the menu were exactly as we would expect for this type of place. We will return to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love Taco City! Their customer service is always on point, the food is always fresh, and the wait times are so short. How do they do it??? Incredible. We are so happy this new location popped up close to our house. There is ample seating and it is so clean. The lighting from the windows in the front was great. Everything was awesome per usual. They stuffed those tacos. Absolutely impeccable execution. The only thing I was missing was at the Middletown location, the quesa-birra broth usually has the marinated beef inside the broth as well as the birria tacos themselves and this location only gave the broth. Still very yummy, but adding some of the beef to the broth is such a fun addition so if they can do that regularly, that would be even better! Itās just fun to spoon out some super succulent beef from that delicious broth. Itās what makes them stand out from other joints that make the birria tacos. If you donāt know what Iām saying and you eat beef, please run over to Taco City and try their quesadilla-birrias. You wonāt be disappointed, even without the beef in the broth! Love love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGave 3 stars. If you have no idea what the word gringo means, then this is the spot for you. No frijoles on the breakfast tacos. No campechano tacos or charro beans on the menu. Etc.
It says it's a Mexican restaurant but the clientele speaks otherwise. The overly loud Tejano music and teetotalers already present for margs at noon after church on Sunday also indicate the clientele for this place. $5 for a single taco is too much, but the bougie can afford it. The chairs loudly SCREECH across the floor, scaring people.
Yo vivo en Texas. Real Mexican breakfast tacos come with frijoles spread on the tortilla. But here, theres whole pinto beans mixed into cold scrambled eggs mixture, with creme, queso frio, bacon.....just.....idk what this is.
UPDATE: Gave 4 stars. The owner came and talked to me and made some real Mexican breakfast tacos with just the right ingredients: frijoles, huevos, chorizo, tortillas and pico. Delicious....
