Was at the opening of the new store in Hbg pa . To be completely honest. I was not in any way impressed. It's just another grocery store . The isles are a bit wider than Aldi . They have a bigger store. But as for saving money forget it . I saved on spaghetti sauce at a buck a jar . That's it . I really wanted the bakery. Another let down. It was buy one get one free . But no variety at all . And the blueberry muffins and donuts were tiny . So you're basically paying the same price you would for a donut at Giant or Karns Or Weis markets . 2 pies to choose from apple or cherry. They are a dollar cheaper than the other stores. Veggies looked nice with a good variety of. But again not that great . I don't know who the people in black were . Customer service or security but I had to on 3 occasions half to walk around them as they stood in the middle of isles gabbing with each other. I did see one lady At check out helping an Asian couple. The lady at self checkout was also very helpful. Place was hectic and the customers rude . But that may be because it was opening day . I don't see my self ever going back . Much nicer and better deals to be found in other stores...
Read moreIts okay. Im not really impressed. I first went to Lidl in New Jersey years ago and wasn't impressed then, but thought Id give them another chance. I go to Costco about once a month and afterwards usually stop at Target to grab toiletries. Since Lidl is right next to Target I figured I would just grab a few items so I didn't have to make an extra stop at Aldi. MISTAKE! I went in to grab some Apples, all were very expensive for the size/quality and there was very little variety to choose from. The cucumbers I bought were so small that the $1.99 price really isn't a good deal. They are the smallest Persian cucumbers Ive ever bought. They look sad, I should have passed on purchasing but was in a rush. I was really hoping that this would be a competitively priced grocery store. But it's not. And its quality seems actually lower than Aldi. The reason I am giving it a 3 is that you can make it a one stop shop, because they do sell quite a bit of regular brand products which Aldi does not. Its okay. The produce really is not impressive though in terms of...
Read moreI’m thrilled that Lidl has finally opened near me—I’ve been waiting for this for so long! The bakery section is amazing; it brings back nostalgic memories of the bakeries I grew up with, since I’m not from this area originally.
However, I did have an unpleasant experience with one of the cashiers—a Caucasian woman who was unexpectedly rude and passive-aggressive. I didn’t catch her name this time, but since I shop there frequently, I’ll update this review if I encounter her again.
Customer service should be respectful and patient. If there’s a language barrier or misunderstanding, the appropriate response is to ask for clarification—not to react with unnecessary aggression. Rude behavior has no place in a front-facing role, especially in such a great...
