So Iāve been going back and forth about this review if I should or shouldnāt bother wasting my time until I just checked out their website and saw that I was scammed by one of their employees. So about a week ago I stopped in to have a few pieces of equipment taken a look at and given pricing on them. I for the life of me cannot remember the First Gentleman that I worked with but he was great. As he tested each piece of equipment to ensure it worked he was very thoughtful in explaining to me the process as he took each step. He then informed me of their policy of they give 60% of what they will sell it for as their offer on each item. It blew my mind. I came in expecting to get the GameStop trade in treatment and to be given insulting numbers for each item but I was pleasantly surprised with how realistic the offers were and left there happier than I thought I would be. The store manager was there as well and when he wasnāt busy helping others he was very informative and I enjoyed the conversations we had. So I returned a day or two later thinking I would get the same service and I encountered a fellow by the name Alex I do believe it was. At first I kind of felt his initial interaction with me was smug and condescending but I waited to see if maybe it was just a misreading on my behalf. Well as we slowly went through the sales process his numbers were much lower than I had anticipated. Since having their process explained so well in my first visit I was able to duplicate the same at home and get a ball park figure as to what it should be. When I asked about why they were lower and began to explain why I questioned it I was rudely cut off and was told he didnāt know it was a system and he couldnāt change the numbers. So I finished my transaction with him and left having experienced some of the worst customer service ever in my life. Fast forward to today I go to look something up on their website and find my equipment that I sold him for a price much higher than what it should have been if I was given 60% of what they would sell it for. All in all I will say that the difference between what he gave me and what it should be according to their formula and the sales price today of what I sold them is off about 80-110 dollars. And though that number may not be extremely big, the whole reason I am selling the equipment is because my father in law was in several bands back in his day and still had all of his stuff in mint condition just collecting dust in the attic. His current wife got informed that her son died unexpectedly at a very young age and she has not been handling it well. My father in law asked me to try and get the best numbers I could for them as he was going to use the funds to help her pay for the funeral arrangements and such as she is on a fixed income in her retirement. I am a reseller by trade and Iām pretty good at what I do so he put faith in me to handle this part of the situation and up until now I thought I did but after seeing how I was treated I feel as if I failed him. I will be going to the store in the next few days to speak directly with the manager about this but be very cautious dealing with Alex. Iām not sure if the company offers incentives on used merchandise buys or if the numbers he spoke of were different then what he actually put in the system as paid out or what the case was with this situation but I am very disappointed with the over all experience of that day. As a company that offers used equipment to the market I would think a lot of young and just starting off people would put the stuff to good use finding it in one of their trips to the center and that made me happy that this was where it was going and that the end result would be many more years of use and appreciation to come for this stuff but to allow this kind of treatment and actions by the company as a whole it makes me wonder if they are truly built on the love of music equipment or if they are just like every other big box store and only care about next quarters...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stopped in at the Guitar Center in Harrisburg for the first time to purchase a keyboard stand. I will say the Gentleman at the front counter said Hello and welcomed me to the store, but unfortunately that is where the "good" experience stopped. I went into the keyboard section and there was a salesman working with another customer but there was no acknowledgement that I was there or even a "Hello, I will be right with you"? I looked around and after waiting about 15 minutes with no assistance I went to the front desk to see if someone else could help me? Unfortunately the man stated that he was new and didn't know about the stands and I would have to wait for the other gentleman in the back. No problem and I proceeded to the Keyboard area again and after another 10 minutes or so I decided I would just pick up a keyboard stand and take my chances. The keyboard I selected was on a shelf marked $54.99 along with several boxes of the same keyboard stand. I proceeded to the cashier and the "new" gentleman did his best to help me check out, with no assistance which he clearly needed. He told me to put in my card and I asked what the total was and he stated $74.99 to which I said, no the sign says $54.99 at which time the man who was still helping the other customer asked if he needed help and I questioned the price. I told him the sign states $54.99 so he went to check and came back to say that the $54.99 price was for the single stand of which there were none as I checked myself previously. So again I said that the sign states $54.99 and he again said this stand was $74.99. Please know this is the most attention he gave me the whole time I was there. At this time I had been in the store over 1/2 hour and I purchased the stand and left the store. After thinking about this more please know that I will "NEVER" purchase anything in this store again nor will I recommend this store to any of my family or friends. There were only 2 people in the store and if this is how you treat your customers I will not be one of them.
SHAME on you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas looking to get a key board/ MIDI controller as a gift for a relative. Being a non musician I figured we would stop in to a physical store, get some quick advice and guidance, and walk out with item in hand not having to worry about shipping delays near the holidays.
Not only did I not receive a single word of advice. I couldnāt even purchase the product I eventually decided on myself.
After a half hour of watching the guy at the front register check out 1-2 customers while the other fiddled with a display cymbal no one was inquiring about, we finally got to ask if someone could please unlock the display case and ring us up for the item.
We were told they had to first go check in the back before selling an item from the display case. There wasnāt one in the back. So they went to unlock the display case. We then waited while they tried every single key across 2 rings of keys. He eventually gave up apologized and went to get the āmanagerā (the one fiddling with cymbals)
The manager then came over and said. āSorry we donāt sell things out of this caseā (almost certainly a lie). Note this is not a display model this is an unopened brand new product in a glass case labeled with a price. He said he would check the back again. He didnāt, instead he began helping someone else. He eventually went and tried the keys again before wordlessly walking past us and asking someone else if he could help them. I asked if that meant he had given up and that we would wouldnāt be able to buy what we came for and he just said āyeahā
I have had better more competent service at the DMV.
If I wanted to spend almost an hour watching people mumble and jingle keys Iād go to a...
