Devon's Mackinac Island Fudge & Popcorn Co. — Local services in Mackinaw Township

**UPDATE: I received a very kind email as follow up from the owner. She acknowledged an unusual manufacturing situation that affected my shipment. The new fudge is tasty, smooth, fresh and soft. All good and appreciated.

(Like a couple other reviews, I bought this from my local high end grocery store. Almost all the packages on the shelf were hard as a rock. I should have been suspicious at that point. The one package I chose was softer, but the texture was rubbery like plastic. There was almost no flavor at all? It was like a shiny fondant and waxy. This is nothing like the texture nor rich taste of true Mackinac Island fudge. Not a $6-7...

This place caught my attention because you have to walk through it to use the restroom if you are over in Nonna Lisa’s or the winery. Nice selection of salt water taffy, candy, caramel corn and ice cream. They even have an arcade. Where they got marked down was that I found the caramel corn that they make in St. Ignace 200 miles away at half the price. I know there is a mark up for the tourist in Mackinaw City but c’mon. I didn’t buy any fudge because Joann’s has that market cornered.

Very bad experience! The price is confusing, the fudge is “buy two get two free” and then it is also show “buy four 23.98”, and it doesn’t mean buy 4 get 4 for 23.98, just totally you get 4 for 23.98. This is not reason I don’t like this store. I was charged at counter, an middle aged lady was very rude to me, she said the candy was sample, and my friends were also with me, she only let me take one, my friends were also in the store and looking at other areas. My friends were asked to come to get theirs. The candy is not good taste! I didn’t feel welcome...
