Joann's Fudge Of Mackinac Island — Local services in Mackinaw Township

I read a few reviews where it mentioned that the fudge at this store was overpriced. Actually it really wasn’t! They had deals where if you got more it was cheaper and even if you bought singles it wasn’t that bad. There was a huge selection of fudge to choose from and you could sample as many as you want. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They didn’t seem bothered when we were trying to sample some fudge and we sampled quite a few. We had walked around to see if other fudge stores were as good as this one or better. We didn’t come across any other fudge stores, whose fudge was soft and moist like the one JOANN had. We literally went back looking for them to purchase their fudge and we purchased like 12 of them. The penuche and butter pecan were our favorites. The fudge was rich and creamy where as other places had dry and brittle fudge. I would definitely recommend fudge from here and you won’t be disappointed at all! The taffy’s also very flavorful and chewy and you definitely have a big sample section for all the flavors as well. Fudge: here's where the two stars come in.

Stopped on a Wednesday after visiting the island.

Grabbed a five piece " deal " pack.

Two chocolate cherry, one vanilla, one chocolate pecan and one vanilla salted caramel.

Chocolate cherry: Excited to see this one this was not good. Gritty. The amaretto cherry flavor was off. It seems to be to strong. But that texture is what really threw this fudge off, almost non edible!. Not like Tawas Bay Fudge company. Real black cherries and a smooth creamy finish. This was a total miss at Joann's

Vanilla fudge. Not bad. Good flavor. Vanilla, butter hints. But again the grainy texture takes that smooth feeling off the tongue.

Vanilla Salted Caramel: Rich flavor. Good overall. Texture on this is better, but not perfect.

Chocolate Pecan: Probably the best overall of the five pieces as the oil from the pecans smoothed out the graininess of the fudge. Giving it a richer smoother texture. This fudge was good.

There are so many fudge shops on and off the island, Joann's will NOT be our fudge stop next visit. Sorry :( $39.95 for what equivalents to one notable piece is kinda a tough pill...

I recently purchased, online, five boxes of Joann’s five slice box fudge. I wanted to make gift sampler boxes for some friends and boy was I pleasantly surprised. The employee on the phone was very helpful when I was trying to determine which flavors to purchase for my friends sampler boxes. The shipping was fast...I live in Washington state and ordered the fudge on Monday January 11th, it shipped on Tuesday January 12th and we had it by Friday the 15th, and it was packaged very well. The fudge was amazing...as I cut it up for the sampler boxes I was tasting it myself through the process. When my friends received their fudge boxes they wanted to know where I had purchased it because it was so good and creamy. Wow Joann’s, you did not disappoint. I found your shop online and selected it because you are rated the #1 fudge shop in the country and I would concur...your fudge is amazing and your staff are very helpful. Thank you for helping us to surprise our friends with the best...
