Longleaf in Macon is where the magic happens if you're looking for a twist on your classic cocktail favorites and a vibe that makes every night feel like the weekend. This place is a gem, mixing Southern charm with a dash of the unexpected, and it’s got a personality that’s as bold and inviting as the drinks they serve. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the New Fashion.
Imagine taking an Old Fashioned, that timeless classic everyone respects but doesn’t always reach for, and giving it a makeover that turns heads and sparks conversations. That's the New Fashion for you. It's like Longleaf took the essence of a cozy, oak-paneled bar, mixed it with a bit of Georgia flair, and poured it all into a glass that’s as cool as the other side of the pillow.
This drink is not just a cocktail; it's a statement. It says, "Yeah, I respect the classics, but I'm not afraid to shake things up a bit." The New Fashion takes your beloved bourbon and dances it around with a twist of something new, something intriguing—could be a hint of peach, a whisper of pecan, or a secret ingredient that they won’t tell, but will make you wonder why you ever settled for the ordinary.
Sipping on a New Fashion at Longleaf is an experience. The ambiance of the place—with its laid-back yet sophisticated decor—complements the drink perfectly. It’s like each sip invites you to relax a little more, laugh a little louder, and enjoy the moment a little longer. The staff knows their stuff, too, making you feel right at home, whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just in it for the good times.
In short, Longleaf isn’t just serving drinks; it’s serving memories, with the New Fashion leading the charge. So grab your friends, or make some new ones there, and let Longleaf in Macon show you how they put a new spin on an old favorite. It's more than just a night out; it's an experience that'll have you coming back for that New Fashion flair....
Read moreGlad Macon has their own distillery! I've been waiting for over a decade for a local to share their twist on "spiritual" enlightenment. Dropped in on a quiet hump day to see what the hubbub was about without the crowd to get in the way... Cozy but cool. Server was on point and very amicable. Had to try their bourbon Old Fashioned because I'm on that kick to try it everywhere! And I'm glad I did. Definitely one of the better ones! Ice was nice and clear, mix was just right for me for the wind-down... and the peel was smoked with that perfect spark of oil to top it off. While good, I definitely have to come back to experience more of the actual local spirits and the small eats. From what I've heard, the tenders are allowed creativity when creating their cocktails... Sounds like a challenge! I really want this place to shine and can't wait to try their very own whiskeys and bourbon...
Read moreReally good liqueurs. We tried the fernet, thistle, golden Amaro, alpine, and lemongrass. They were all great! Also tried a couple cocktails- a martini recommended by the bartender and a house cocktail from the menu.
We purchased the alpine to do some drink comparisons with chartreuse. So far, we’ve only compared them in a last word, and the chartreuse definitely makes a difference in this one. The alpine just doesn’t come through enough in that drink. The alpine on its own is good though so looking forward to trying some other drinks.
Definitely want to go back and do the tour and get the Alba when it’s in stock.
UPDATE- Recently went back and did the tour with a small group of friends, and it was really fun. The guide was awesome and friendly. We were able to see all the aspects of the distillery and try many of the their offerings. ...
