After not being acknowledged when I went into the store, I waited TWENTY minutes for a simple store pick up. Usually when I go in, I show my ID and am handed a bag with my items. On this occasion there was an associate and one customer when I arrived. The associated was "assisting"her, who turned out to be her friend. They kept going and looking at items, and chatting about their weekend plans. After 10 minutes, I politely asked if I could just have my pick up and was rudely told to wait my turn! The associate wasn't ringing anything up, just looking at prices and helping her friend pick out outfits but nothing was being purchased. Another customer came in and was also not greeted. After 5 minutes, I asked again saying I know I just need to show my ID to get my bag (that I could clearly see hanging right next to the associate) and that she didn't have to key anything in so it wouldn't take any time. I was told if I couldn't wait, I should come back another time!!! The other customer had come in for a pair of leggings and was waiting behind me watching everything going on. After a few more minutes, this customer even asked for my items and to be rung out because she was on break. The associate told us she'll get to us when she was done and her friend actually was the one to leave the store. If the items I had ordered weren't for a list minute trip that I needed, I would have left after the first rude comment.
This location has been going downhill for sometime with declining customer service and the common sizes always out of stock which is why I switched to online ordering. It's great to purchase everything online and have it ready in store in a few hours or shipped directly home. After this ordeal, I will travel to any other location because won't be back...
Read moreTorrid is a store that caters to women sizes 10 through 30 and also to those who have bigger and/or wider feet and calves. The clothing is trendy and is cut to fit a plus-size rather than a small size and just add some extra material. This is one of the bigger Torrid stores in the Tri-State area (yes, we've made the rounds) so they usually have a pretty good selection to choose from. Their prices reflect that they cater to a niche market but I've found that the types of sales they have, particularly Haute Cash really negates the priciness of it. Their clearance section tends to be small but we've found some good bargains there. We've ever had a problem with unfriendly staff and have always found them most helpful. They give honest opiniions when asked and are great at suggesting something that might suit better. If they don't have your size, they can and will order it for you saving you the hassle of going online and finding it to order. No problems with any returns I've had. I'm guilty of not noticing when my mouse double-clicks and I accidently order 2 of something.
I do have two complaints with this store. First, there is no seating other than the bench where people try on shoes. The other problem is no restrooms are available, you have to go to an area restuarant. Both these shortfalls can and will limit the amount of time people will spend in the store. I understand that both of these issues are probably space issues but it would be nice if a bench could be put somewhere near the changing rooms for those of us who get to sit and comment on the...
Read moreToday cemented for me that shopping at torrid is ALWAYS the right call for me. I grew up a Walmart baby and brought that "cheaper is better" mentality into adulthood. I got what I paid for and shopping was a miserable experience for me. Size differences and cheap cuts made me feel horrible about myself. Then my hunni insisted I go to torrid after mentioning several times that they always have cute stuff in the windows. From the first pair of jeans I was hooked. Comfortable...sized for women in a way that boosts you not shames you. Variety and quality are amazing. Today I went in to try a size smaller jeans then I had been because I felt maybe I could squeeze into the lower size after some weight loss. I picked some stuff out with my mom who I introduced to the store for the first time today. We went to try stuff on and there was a lovely woman trying stuff on and I casually mentioned that the outfit she had on was very pretty. This struck up a soon to be cheering section at the fitting rooms..a few of the other shoppers and a saleswoman. we all came out in what we were trying on and the others would oo and ahh and voice their opinions on which we liked better.. when it was my turn I tried on the smaller jeans and i didn't need to squeeze into them. it was a highly emotional moment for me (as anyone on a weight loss journey will surely understand). The people around me were amazingly supportive and the saleswoman even brought me in some tissues. Truly a supportive community of shoppers. Always great deals and incentives. TOTALLY worth every...
