This is about my interview experience and NOT my service experience. I’m also not upset that I didn’t get hired because I’m not petty and I ended up working at a different location anyway. I applied on indeed with a solid resume. 2.5+ years of FOH experience, spoke well, dressed well. It was a group interview which i had no idea about but it didn’t matter anyway since the manager interviewing me wasn’t the one that messaged me or looked at my resume. The manager interviewing the group asked us 3 very simplistic questions and ended the interview, hence my frustration because I wasn’t able to truly talk about why I would be fit for the job. He said and I quote “ I don’t have time so I have someone else look at the resumes and message people for me” just crazy to me how you could have a big “we’re hiring” sign but when good workers are eager to work, they do stuff like that. I’d understand the decision of doing a group interview as it could save time, however some of the people in my group had no experience or was it was their first interview (no shade to them cause I was there once) but clearly whoever was messaging us was messaging anyone that applied. It would make more sense to interview a smaller group of 3-4 (mine was a group of 10) that all have somewhat of an experience in the position they applied for and then picking the best apples from the basket. I could even understand having someone else doing the work of accepting applicants, but not looking at ANY resume at all is crazy. At my second job, my managers have a dedicated one-one interview. Usually on Monday’s or Tuesdays on a not so busy time so that the person that applied could really explain everything they need to.
My recommendation? Invite less applicants that would other wise not fit your current needs/required experience for the position
Do smaller group interviews so that it feels more personal.
Have whatever manager interviewing ACTUALLY look at the applicants resumes and ask meaningful questions I.E “what’s a weakness you can improve on” “why should we hire you” “what experience do you have working a fast food/restaurants
A-lot to improve one. The manager was very nice but the way they do things in terms of hiring is strange to say the...
Read moreAvoid this location at all costs. We placed an order over the mobile app. They were busy, but not very busy. The line at the drive thru was very short. However we were handed our milkshake and asked to park in the parking lot to wait. We eventually got our food and drove home (with our already melted milkshake). 20 min there and 20 min home plus a wait time, and part of my order was missing. I called the location and basically got the “well come back and get it” or we can give you a free one next time you’re in the area. I just want a refund, the manager on duty hung up on me. So I filed a complaint with chik fil a.
Juan the manager called me back the next day and say he loaded a free yogurt parfait on my mobile app. I said no thanks, I want a refund. Apparently tho, they don’t have to refund you for anything you buy at this location, as it’s at the discretion of the owner of that chik fil an and not corporate. (Corporate very unhelpful as well so don’t even bother with them) So basically they can take your money, not give you anything you ordered and refuse you a refund, but offer you a replacement. I can’t drive, I’m disabled and I don’t want a replacement. I don’t want another 40 min drive for another chance at getting a what I ordered. Also it was my birthday. If I paid money and didn’t receive the service, money should be refunded, that shouldn’t even be a discussion.
Honestly if chik fil an allows its owners not to refund, and have their own policies on issues like this, with absolutely no help from corporate Chil Fil A then this place should be avoided. This interaction has completely changed my views of this company. I would not give another dollar to this location, and would warn others against it as well.
The only nice thing I have to say about Chik Fil A is the cashiers and drive thru employees are...
Read moreThe restaurant was crowded with the Veterans Day holiday shoppers, so the lines were long. This is not what I wanted to see after fighting through the mall traffic just to get there in the first place. Incredibly, with just two people taking orders, the lines moved very fast and efficiently. The front line worker who greeted me with a smile and a pleasant “how can I help you”, went a long way toward making me confident that I had made the right choice by coming here for dinner. Having never been there before, Heather pleasantly explained the menu options for me, and then read it back for correctness. So far, I was impressed. I took a spot to wait for my takeout order, which, much to my surprise again came out relatively quickly and still hot from being freshly cooked. It was delicious. All in all I would have to say that it was an impressive display of professionalism and good restaurant practices. I hope you’re working again next time I show up Heather, because between the good food and the great service you can be sure that I will be back.
I hope Chick-fil-A recognizes the kind of person you are and how good you are at your...
