This Meijer is terrible! I placed a pickup order for this morning between 8-9am. 8:56am rolls around and I didn't hear a peep from the store about picking up my order. Okay, no problem I called the store to check on the order. Unfortunately I first ran into a super rude Customer Service operator from (I guess) Meijer HQ who then transferred me to the Maumee Meijer Curbside Department (could of sworn I already chose this option on the initial phone tree 🙄). Hoping for some answers I stayed on hold until the Pickup Department answered my call. A young woman picked up, didn't say anything until I said "Hello?", and proceeded to tell me the shoppers were running behind. I asked why no one had contacted me about this issue and she just chuckled and said "Well the issue just happened." Okayyyyy, but what does that have to do with having basic customer service? I followed up her answer by asking "When will the order be ready for pick up?" She fumbled a bit before saying "I can't give out that information. We're not allowed to share exact times with the customers for pickup orders." So I can't even get a window of time for my late order? Okay, I guess. "Then can you please cancel my order?" "Um we can't do that back here. I can transfer you to Customer Service and they can do it there." I just told her I'll go into the store myself and cancel the order since I was outside waiting for my order at its original Pickup time (8-9am window as a reminder). I walked up to Customer Service (no greeting), rang the bell for assistance, and asked for my order to be canceled. The woman at the counter told me "We don't do that up here. Let me call the Curbside department." She then called Curbside and had them cancel the order. Why couldn't they cancel the order for me?! This entire ordeal feels like a waste of time piled up with terrible customer service. Moral of the story I'm never shopping at Meijer again. They obviously don't value their customers. They can't even make a call or send a text about a late order before I even arrive. It felt like pulling teeth just to have my order canceled. Oh! Read moreI recently went to this Meijer with my girlfriend like we do a lot. Everything was going well, and we found what we were looking for, paid for it and was stopped to have our receipt checked by a Debrah M. I thought to myself that it was weird because we are never usually stopped to be checked. It took a second for her to give me an answer to why and she stumbled a little and told us that it was because we did not have our one item (a $17 scale) in a grocery bag. I used to work in a grocery store, and we didn't really practice this due to employees being at the self-check outs watching over people doing their transactions. Meijer has these people too. I wouldn't be throwing a fuss about this really if it weren't for the fact that I've been going to this Meijer ever since I was a little boy and Debrah seemed to be a greeter whose job is not to do this (unless you're at Walmart). In addition, multiple people in front of us had items in their hands that were NOT in bags and Debrah did not stop them. Two younger men had eggs and other miscellaneous items not in bags and an older gentleman had a large bottle of laundry detergent and a gallon of milk. I go to self check out scan first item it recognized and I bag it scanned second item it recognized it I bag it alert please wait for assistance with the check out screen video monitoring me with video of me on screen as if I were stealing but why 2 items scanned 2 items bagged. Cashier walks over to fix the "no issue" problem. I asked the cashier by the name of mya what happened she mumbled I said excuse me she replied I don't know it does that sometimes.
