Stayed here for 2 nights. The place is laid out weird. The elevators are at back by the pool and not near the front desk or reception area. Front desk staff didn't greet us or acknowledge our hilton members status. Not a big deal. But also not welcoming/nor friendly. Need improvement on customer service skills. Rooms are small. No closets, other than 2 make shift nooks by the windows. Which were useless. The A/C unit is loud and noisy. We had a hard time trying to sleep so we turned the AC lower so it wouldn't turn on as much which made the room temperature uncomfortable. AC was also a bit musty. The bathroom door is a barn door. It doesn't close properly/fully. Also the bed is next to the bathroom barn door. So if someone has to sleep right next to the bathroom, things can get smelly. Mini fridge was wobbly. I tried to adjust the leg but couldn't. The room and bathroom were generally clean. The bathroom floating shelves were flimsy and had screws behind them to prop them up. The bathtub tub spout was separating from the wall. I was excited for breakfast after reading some positive reviews. But I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. At least during our stay the breakfast was honestly the worst we've ever had at a Hampton Inn. And we're not overly picky either. The lady at the back of the house, who was managing the breakfast area was nice but I observed her grabbing a piece of breakfast sausage from the back up tray in the back room, with her bare hands and eating it. In full view of customers. Not appropriate. But I didn't say anything. Breakfast was sub par. The juice area has tiny Styrofoam cups that don't hold much liquid. I've never seen these type of cups used at other Hampton Inns before. Wasteful. Breakfast selection was poor and low quality. The pool area was a surprisingly larger size than other Hampton Inns. There was another outdoor pool but it was closed. The area is in a good location with several restaurants within walking distance and also grocery stores Meijer and Kroger. Lots of kids staying here when we stayed. We also have kids. I tried to pick a room away from any noise but i still encountered kids who were running up and down the hallway, screaming, slamming doors and running up and down the stairwell until around 11:30pm. Where are the parents?? I was close to calling reception to complain. I probably wouldn't...
Read moreI had a bad experience at Hampton. My room was smelling like a rotten dungeon; is not ventilated well. I complaint twice about it to the staff and no one addressed the issue. Also, I forgot a very important binder with documents inside (passport, SSN card ) which obviously my fault not the hotel. I realized that I forget it the next day when I am back home. I kept trying to call the hotel for 2 days and their number was unavailable. I drove for 5 hours back to the hotel and person on the front desk was extremely useless. She told me that their number is broken. She told me initially that she contacted the manager and no items were found. When I asked her to give me the manager contact info she refused. I left hopeless and drove back when the manager call me back when I was almost arriving home that he has the binder file. First of all when a professional hotel personnel find personal items for customers why don’t they call them (obviously my full name on the passport and other documents, plus they know I was in this specific room) ? Second the person at the reception lied about calling Mr.president asking him about my belonging despite knowing that I am driving far away to check on my lost item and they don’t even have a phone to contact and she let me drive back for 4 hours when she can easily call her manager to ask him if they do have lost items. I drove back again, paid tolls multiple times plus $50 extra for the additional miles. What a non convenient unprofessional management. Again it’s my fault forgetting an important documents but ….. Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel last night for an event at the local theater. We decided to cancel another hotel reservation to go to this Hampton because Hamptons are known to be nice, this one was just okay. The location was great for the theatre and some restaurants but 1.Our room smelled like cigarettes right when we walked in even though this is a non smoking room. You guys need new pillows because you are pretty much sleeping on no pillow because of how flat they are. The bathroom door was filthy Breakfast was OK. Nothing like the other Hamptons we have stayed at. The potatoes were great though. We did not feel welcomed by front desk. They were not personable.
The final thing that made me decide to write this review was I left my WALLET in the room with all my info and my credit cards in it. This was our fault but how they are handling this is not right. I realized 2 hours into our drive back home that I forgot my wallet. I called the hotel and told them my room number. The lady at the front desk only said "they haven't cleaned the room yet. We will call you in an hour" . First off, you know my room number and I said I forgot it. Why not just go check real quick? I waited at the toll plaza for 30 minutes. I called back and asked if they will send it back if they found it. She said yes. We continued our 4 hour drive. I received no call back. I called again a few hours later and someone else said they haven't gotten anything turned in and they took my name and number down. They still know my room number and I was the last one in the room why not check before the next guest comes and my identity...
