Traveled with family, young children included for a weekend trip to Toledo. Wanted to find a place that had an indoor pool and breakfast included. This place did not disappoint! As a matter of fact, it may have even exceeded expectations. Right off I-80, and about 20 mins. south of downtown, fairly close to most attractions. The entire hotel appears to have been recently renovated. Rooms were nicely furnished and looked more modern. Pool is on the smaller side, but it did the job. The highlight is breakfast. I was surprised to find more than your standard make-your-own-waffle plus cereal and pastry assortment. They offered a hot tray of biscuits and gravy, sausage patties and eggs. More than that, I have to personally commend Lana, the breakfast attendant who worked so hard and so quickly to keep up with the mad rush of hungry guests. She replenished the food and cleaned the tables quickly. Very efficient, very polite, very professional!
The only complaint I have is that there was a large army of kids about 10 y/o causing chaos during our stay. They were there for a soccer tournament. Late at night, there were all out in the hallway playing, running, and being loud. They crowded the pool and started chucking balls at each other, sometimes getting close to hitting other guests who are there to enjoy the pool peacefully. Early the next morning, they were loud during their exit as other guests were still sleeping. Wish the hotel management would've been able to control this issue better, but I won't hold this against them too much as I decided not to bring it to their attention.
Overall, good experience and will definitely book here again the next time...
Read moreThe hotel and room were decorated nicely. Clean & modern-looking, typical Choice Hotels property. The room rate was good, although don't like making non-refundable payments in advance of actually reviewing property. Assume policy exists due to nearness of freeways & Ohio turnpike location, other properties in area.||Bed was comfortable. Television worked well. Ice machine worked well. Wi-Fi signal good, although of course not secure. Breakfast area was nice, unusual location. (Watch your first step into the hallway!) No insects observed, bed or otherwise. Property quiet, this was a weekday stay.||MAJOR CONCERN: Online reviews report doors to outside propped or left open are correct. Direct hallway access doors, no 2nd, interior door.Witnessed security lapse firsthand. Side door propped open using "wet floor" cone, bright yellow and a bright, red flag. Camera system won't reveal who belongs in a room/hallway or not, cameras weren't regularly monitored by staff at front desk. (Who probably don't have time.)||Housekeeping cart & another item left in front of open closet on 2nd floor, partially blocking hallway entrance by breakfast area at top of stairs. Observed guest bump into it. Cart remained entire stay.||"Do Not Disturb" sign not available for door.||Puddle of water, bottom of refrigerator. Maybe recent defrost.||Appears to be only one direction or entrance from which parking lot may be accessed from Reynolds Rd. The city is forcing many u-turns, not...
Read moreFront of the hotel, blocking access to one parking lot exit. Big mound of broken concrete - 4 ft. tall by 20 ft. wide. On or around 2:15 am, requested Chad to wait to check us in after 3am. Chad refused and insisted to check us in at his discretion. I requested for follow-up from the Manager – received no such follow-up. We took possession of the keys to our "non-smoking" hotel room after 3:00 am, (can be verified by your lobby cameras) we took our luggage down the hall, opened the door of our "non-smoking" hotel room, and before we stepped through the threshold of the door, we were greeted with the strong stench of stale cigarette smoke. We immediately returned to the front desk. We told Chad we would not stay in that so called "non-smoking" room, and we were prepared to go to Comfort Inn Suites down the street. Chad immediately offered us a different room on the 2nd floor. By this time it was 4:00am, after more than a half a day of driving, hauling luggage from one part of the hotel to another part of the hotel, we were too tired and incoherent to examine the room. Next morning, we found dirty sheets, toilet required plunging every time we flushed, the microwave did not work, hair was in the shower and the room did not smell clean. We did not have time, nor did we want to chase down the manager to address these issues. I never thought I needed to bring my own sheets, comforter, blanket and microwave too. A refund would be more like it and...
