Please travel to the OTHER SIDE OF TOWN! This is what you cannot patronize certain business, in particular areas. We came for a simple exchange/store credit. Items were purchased out of state, we travel for work, and it was 2 pet items. A cat scratcher and a cat ball track. Neither were used. They were simply in our home, and had collected a few cat hairs, nothing extensive, the kitten didn’t even like the toys. We had adopted a kitten, it did not work out, only had the kitten for 4 days total.
We had to remove the cardboard packaging on the items, which also had the price tags on the cardboard. We also had the original receipt. We already did a partial exchange at the original location, but due to utilizing multiple vehicles, not all of the items were with us at the first Exchange.
Therefore, we came to a different location today. Which brings me to the point of this review. We were treated as though we were trying to conduct a scam. As if! The two products cost less than $20, with tax! We didn’t want a cash refund, which we would have been entitled to, being that we did pay with our debit card. This information is also indicated on the receipt. However, we made it known that we did not want a refund, simply a store credit to purchase something else.
We even went to the cashier first before shopping for the exchange items, being that we are aware of what side of town we are on, and we did not want to appear to be doing anything suspicious, it is sad that you have to take these things into consideration nowadays, but it is the truth. So we went to the cashier first to prevent any issues, do the exchange, and receive a store credit. Afterwards, we were going to shop, find what we needed and exit, this wasn’t an all day shopping experience.
We were not treated well by any means. Instead, we were treated somewhat criminal, not to mention the unpleasant attitude of the elderly cashier. Her being elderly IS the ONLY reason we remained calm, despite our treatment. We were raised to respect our elders, even though it was very difficult in this situation. However, all you can do is pray for some individuals, because the misery they feel is ever so apparent in their treatment of others and overall disposition.
The overall interaction resulted in us, having to speak with a manager on duty. The manager was the opposite of the cashier and explained everything. We understood the policy, and did not see the need to go back-and-forth over $20 worth of items. It wasn’t that serious.
The manager, and the elderly cashier, felt that the items had been used, and they would not be able to resell them, and yet still refused to give us a store credit. Now we know this could have been resolved differently. There are many retail establishments, that take returns/exchanges all the time, and they are NOT able to resell the items. They will dispose of the items according to their store policies (HINT: TJ MAXX), but will still issue a store credit. This is especially true, if they are not able to provide a refund, due to their policy.
We weren’t even given that option, but hey no big deal right? one less customer out of millions isn’t going to make that big of a difference, right? Take heed and DO NOT patronize this business. Why potentially put yourself/family at risk, of experiencing the same treatment, if you, for any reason, find yourself in need of an exchange or return???
Spend your $$$ at your own risk! Retailers wonder why business is dropping and Amazon is taking over……I believe it’s obvious at this point. We did not have to receive this treatment from the cashier. It was very demeaning & completely unnecessary. This a simply a chain store & we just wanted to make an exchange. Not sure if I will return to patronize this business as a whole (I really like HomeGoods), possibly at another location. I will most definitely NEVER return to this location. You get what you pay for, and your surroundings (side of town/ geographical region) always indicate your...
Read moreNormally I have a good experience, BUT tonight was different. I seen an item instead of buying 2 for 80 a piece, I found a bench for 99, so why by 2 when this is the better deal right? Well the cashier called the manager, proceeded to tell me it's coming up 149, as I proceeded to tell her that's not what was on the bench, told her they could run the Camara back. Manager told me people place things in wrong area. 😕 I started to tell her then you should've had the people on the floor making sure priced tags were in the right place. This manager or lead was not welling to offer anything since she or the other people on this shift did not do their due diligence. 🤔 as a customer since the price was on the bench I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN IT FOR THE PRICE OF 99 dollars AS ADVERTISED!!! I'm just saying....Was not happy I almost put my whole sale back....a little...
Read moreVery strange management and employees. They are hiding Hello kitty items in the back. I came in and saw a box of hello kitty queen blankets and was waiting for them to put them out while shopping, and I see the worker put out every item on the pallet except that box and a couple of small boxes. Then they took the pallet and put it back to the back room. Maybe whoever they hoped would come pick up their items didn’t make it. I will be going to HR as this has happened many times. If a pallet goes on the floor. All items should be put out. Them hiding or putting back items in the back knowing they are sought out for is wrong. If employees want to buy items it is ok, as long as the put them out fairly for the public to also have a chance on them. They need new management or to reevaluate what...
