I visited Longhorns at appx 1pm today. I placed my order and spoke with Debbie several times.. I asked for extra sides and mentioned to her that I would be going out to check on my dog and would be right back in. I come back in appx 4 min later and I stood by the bar as Debbie continued to serve others. I begin to talk with a couple siting at a high top table near the bar area. . I waited and waited, even saw others served and leave the restaurant. After waiting for appx, 40 minutes- I walked up near the bar and asked Debbie who had a longhorns bag in her hand with her hand on her hip as she worked the register- how long would it be before I get my order? Debbie asked what my name was and stated that they would text me once it's ready and that I could pull into curbside and they would bring it out. Well it was appx 218 and I was parked and still had not received my order. I went back inside and manager Stephanie stated that there was miscommunication and that Debbie thought I'd place my order with another waitress. I informed Manager Stephanie that there was no way that Debbie could have thought that I spoke with someone else for we made contact many times, I have braids and have on a blue and polka dotted shirt and my voice is very distinct. Not only did we talk, but we discussed my order in detail and Debbie served others as she bypass me standing by the bar. UNACCEPTABLE !!!!! I was not going to allow her to blame another waitress. I visit Longhorns multiple times a week and have never been discarded by any of their staff. Manager Stephanie apologized and fixed my order, but to have waited almost 1.5hrs is insane. Not one time did Debbie looky way after speaking with her manager Stephanie, Nor did she follow-up to see why I was waiting if she did forget , nor did she have the courtesy apologize for my waiting. I told manager Stephanie that it's not hard to forget a black woman with braids in polka dots standing right in front of you while you're walking back and forth and standing behind the bar....

Now, the rest of the story of the bad restaurant day. We left Red Lobster and went next door to Longhorn Steakhouse. We were seated, and a very nice server came to wait on us. She took our order, including an appetizer. The appetizer came out hot and was very good, but then the trouble started. It took right at 45 minutes to receive our food (chicken fruit salad, two hamburgers, and chicken tenders). You would think such a long wait would be rewarded with hot and delicious. Well, it wasn't. My son's fries were cold (remember, this was his special birthday meal). I ordered my hamburger medium. It came out charcoaled, super well done. My wife's hamburger was medium rare, and she does not eat food that was undercooked. Normally, it would have been simple to exchange hamburgers, but because of my wife's soy allergies, to eat something that has touched bread (soy is in most breads) she would have gone into seizures. After the long wait, the food came out all messed up. We sent our burgers back, again emphasizing the allergy and how important it was to get it right. I also don't like cheese on my burgers so I did not eat my wife's. After another long wait, the new burgers came back out. Same problem as before--my hamburger cooked beyond well-done and my wife's medium rare. Finally, a manager-in-training came out and offered to go personally and fix what we actually ordered. Any better? No, not really. My wife's burger this time was super well done and my was an absolute mess. We were having to take these home. When we got home and opened the burgers, the messed up bun had a hair stuck to it. Not ours. Seems the cook must have gotten upset at having to redo our order and decided to gift us a hair. UGH!!! My son's special day was destroyed by incompetent employees. You can see the hair in the picture below. I can't recommend this place although the manager and our server seemed willing to...

I'm probably rating more on the high side... But, they redeemed themselves. Here's why.

We were told 35-40 minute wait. We checked in. Got the text showing us in queue. After 55minutes I inquired how and why would there still be over 11 parties in front of us?

She said that's wrong - your the next table. A couple coming in way after us, waited very little time. They inquired and the lady told them there was 2 parties in front of them; one being us, a party of 5.

Then a lady asked said couple if they received their text - and he lied saying yes! They did NOT even check his text. I was livid. I raised enough cain to get some attention.

I expressed and explained my very visible and verbal concerns. They are nicer than me as to I would have asked to see the text after the fact and make them give up their table.

MS. Valerie, a nice young lady that I believe to be a manager took the assertive control of the situation. She offered us an appetizer for the mix up. Great call. She approached me before me jokingly saying so, 10% off entire bill for the mishap correct?

I was very pleased by this news. I was seeking out these lying thieves so I could... Pay for their bill. No such luck :)

Then our waitress MS. Gena, was very attentive. Answered as well as delivered every issue or concern. Drinks always filled. Checking on us.

Other issues, something gross in bottom of my ceasar salad and steak temperatures way off. My wife and I switched steaks so that we only send one steak back vs. Two to help them out. We got all news sides. We felt good after the bounce back - so we blessed her with a generous tip. I asked names before leaving. I wanted to give due credit in regards to the response of a very upsetting situation. Some people are just idiots... And while I secretly and openly hoped their night sucked - my wife reminded me to...

A huge thank you to server Kyle and the team at Longhorn in McDonough! My niece and I had a lovely meal there on Friday, April 12th. There was a 30-min wait, but the link in the text they sent kept us updated on our place in line. While waiting, we ordered her favorite, Wild West Shrimp, from the bartender. We were content to eat with our fingers in the waiting area, but she - UNPROMPTED - brought us waters, silvery, and plates and invited us to sit. This is a mark of great customer service, and I regret not asking her name. We then played games on my phone and made a game out of the wait-list updates. We were sat, and Kyle came to help. As a former server (and LongHorn server trainer), I noticed he had been double-sat but handled it well. My niece is 12 but looks 8, so the host had given us the kids booklet, which we played and completed at the table. Compliments to the booklet designer! It was full of interesting games and activities. I used the booklet to give my niece a "steak class", which I used to do as a trainer, explaining the tenderness-flavor scale and where each steak on the menu falls on that scale, the difference between a T-bone and a porterhouse, etc. We decided to share a T-bone, medium -rare, and Kyle was so very smart to remind me that it's a warm, red center. (Again, my niece looks much younger than she is.) When the steak came out, it was a PERFECT medium rare. I mentioned both to Kyle and a gentleman (manager?) on the way out, to give my compliments to the chef. We were very full and still took leftovers home. It's a rough time for customer service in general, but last night's experience eclipsed that (see what I did there?) My niece likes photography, and she took this photo, chose a filter and focus, and wanted me to send it to you.

I placed my order online using their website for curbside pickup. The young ladies working curbside were very friendly and polite, but this was the calm before the storm. Once I got home, about a 15 mins drive from the restaurant, I was greeted by the worst steak I've ever seen from Longhorn. I ordered a Medium Rare steak only to recieve an EXTREME well done steak. Not happy with my order I called the store and was put on hold for over 30mins. I called from another phone only to be told if I want a refund they need to have their steak back. Ok, this is a terrible business model but whatever. I drove back to the restaurant only to stand around and be told because I paid using PayPal they could not give me a refund. Now I'm standing in this restaurant another 30 mins, as the manager on duty explains to me why I drove up to the store for nothing. As I am waiting, I am watching the cooks in the back chew on French fries while plating food and the never dud the cook check the temperature of the steaks she was cooking. In the 30 mins I sat there 4 more states were sent back for being over cooked. One sever even said, "who even orders a steak Medium rare, she just wanna start something". I wanted to reacted to this comment, but I was already upset at the fact I was told people lie all the time so thats why I had to bring my steak back, before they would issue me a refund. This is a terrible way to treat a customer, not everyone who complains is a liar or a cheat but it appears that at this Longhorn, you are until you inconvenience yourself in proving them otherwise. I will never eat at this restaurant again, no matter how badly I want a steak.
