The door was propped open and there was not a seat in the house that wasn't being used. There were little children rushing around in front of the ice cream counter and others pulling on their parent's hands trying to get a place in line. They want an ice cream cone and they want one now! Serendipity Ice Cream Shop has 24 flavors of ice cream and you can get a single regular ice cream cone for $3.50. And a single waffle ice cream cone for $4.50. And you can get a double scooped regular ice cream cone for $5.50, and a double scooped waffle ice cream cone for $6.50. The inside of Serendipity ice cream shop looked like an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. The staff was friendly and courteous to their customers and I was there for a good 15 minutes just watching all the people get their ice cream. One child cried because he couldn't get a double scooped ice cream cone, it was so cute he, was so little he had a hard time holding his single scoop of ice cream cone. His father took him out of the building because the child was crying and screaming about wanting a double scoop of ice cream. When it was my turn I ordered a single scoop of rainbow sherbet. Mmm, so good! If you're looking for great customer service and excellent ice cream, stop by Serendipity Ice Cream Shop on downtown 3rd street in McMinnville Oregon you'll be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT: changing from 2 stars to 5. We have been back twice since this review and it was AMAZING. they are back to having top quality brands of ice cream and handmade waffle cones. I donāt know if it was just too busy in the summer to keep up or a dip in quality but it is back to the amazing place it was when we first moved here. Definitely give it a shot.
A couple years ago when we moved to McMinnville we LOVED coming to this shop. Almost all the ice cream was top quality brands (Umpqua/Tillamook) and the waffle cones were handmade and if you were lucky you could get one fresh and warm. And the atmosphere of the shop and staff couldn't be beat ā¤ļø
Coming back a couple time this summer, a lot of the ice cream flavors are budget brands like Blue Bunny, the waffle cones are store bought. It seems like they are working toward the tourist clientele and not return customers.
We got a banana split this last trip and the only topping we recieved was hot fudge. Was more like a hot fudge sundae with a banana and there wasn't a lot of hot fudge for a $10 sundae.
I love supporting small business and understand inflation is hurting us all, but it seems like for the prices going up, the quality is going down.
Unfortunatley, I think we are going to take a break for a bit and try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn general I do enjoy this place as a nice ice cream spot, but please be aware their matcha latte may not be quite what you expect. Iām a frequent matcha drinker, Iāve never had a matcha latte /anywhere/ else that was anything other than some combination of matcha powder and milk, but the one I got today included coffee. Odd combination, definitely not what I expected, and it certainly wasnāt written anywhere that that surprise addition would make its way into the drinkš While the staff member was kind enough to make it for me cold instead of hot upon request, she seemed generally confused about what she was doing, and initially gave me just their version of the matcha latte, and not the matcha latte special I had ordered from their employee creations board. I had to prompt her to add the ice cream offered in the description on the board. Altogether the drink wasnāt necessarily bad, just very strange, and not what I, or anyone else I know, would expect of a...
