Dillard's Superstition Springs Mall — Local services in Mesa

I remembered this week why I rarely go to the Dillards at Superstition Springs mall. I bought a pair of fancy shoes at the Chandler Dillards in early January that I had no intention of wearing anytime soon. While looking for something else online I noticed a couple weeks later the shoes I recently purchased were about 50% cheaper so when I found myself close to Superstition Springs Mall that week I took the unworn shoes into the shoe department and Brad (“the manager”) told me I couldn’t return and rebuy them at the cheaper price. I don’t typically price match but I have done it once this past year at another Dillards with no problem. Brad seemed intent on asserting his authority and told me I couldn’t repurchase them for 24 hours. So I returned the shoes and decided if I couldn’t make it back to rebuy them the next day I’d buy them online where they were available and I’d still save $40. I called Superstition Springs Dillards the next day and asked if they had the shoes available. I was told they did not, there were none in the system, but Chandler Mall had a pair in my size. So, I called Chandler Mall and they said they did NOT have the shoes available in my size. A couple hours later, as I was in the area of Superstition Springs for something else, I decided to stop in the shoe department and see if I received accurate information earlier in the day when I called. Brad (gratefully) was not there but I told the person working what shoe I was looking for and asked if they could look and see if it was stashed in the back. Lucky for me it was found immediately and I was able to purchase them at the discounted price. From the limited information shared, it sounded like Brad was trying to hide them from me in the back. Long story short, bad service and bad information and a total waste of my time. And don’t get me started on the last time I was at the Superstition Springs Dillards several months back there was a woman smoking marijuana in the woman’s dressing room. Customer service gets 5 stars, and the facility is a stretch at 2 stars. We went to scope out the inventory the day before the crazy New Year's Day mayhem sale, and saw the calm before the storm. Gary in menswear meant well but was off the mark. He was the only person in his department (understaffed), yet had no problem stocking inventory and seamlessly paying attention to three separate customers all at once. His fashion sense is impressive and he is personable. He worked out a deal so that we would still get the sale prices without fighting the crazed curmudgeon shoppers the following day. Dropped a couple hundred on a suit and shirts, and felt good about it. Things blew up when I returned to pick up the "tailored" suit. It had been marked incorrectly, and came back looking like it belonged in a clown's wardrobe. Word of advice, Gary is nice, but you are better off having John do measurements for all tailoring. He will steer you right, you can thank me later. Overall, customer service is good. The facility, on the other hand, is in dire need of thorough cleaning and updating to maintain the Dillard's branding. Ghetto is one word I would use to describe...

UPDATE: I came back today for the bra event. Maria and Zina were awesome, I had fun, they treated me like family, and they were professional and knowledgeable. They're the best! Go see them!

In the women's Dept. Patricia and Darlene were great! They took their time and were patient in assisting me with finding what I needed. Being in between sizes in undergarments and being petite can be challenging. They made me feel at ease and did not rush me after trying on plenty of items. All of my questions were answered, and an hour later, I had the proper accessories to compliment my wedding dress! The level of professionalism stood out, as it's hard to find these days!
