Youād probably be better off on a different boat. The staff is relatively ill-informed about SCUBA regulations and standards for a SCUBA outfit. š«¤. They are the type of people that usually encounter less-experienced divers and enjoy trying to sound important - when theyāre wrong and contradict themselves.
None of these are a big deal by themselves, but it adds up:
They announce loudly āNo Smokingā on the boat, but the ācaptainā then later proceeds to walk around smoking cigars.
They have spearfishing equipment (pole spears) sitting out nice and neat, but when asked about spearfishing trips - say without explanation that they donāt allow spearing fish.
My son is an SSI Master Diver - certified (literally written on his card) up to 70ā deep in training, and has logged multiple dives up to 102 feet deep.
The ācaptainā again, tells me that Iām wrong. His card is wrong. He cannot dive deeper than 40 feet. šš. We dive twice a week. Every week. All over the place, for over the past year with different outfits. She drives boats. I think we, our training center, and our training agency know our limitations.
This captain then proceeds to tell us - unprovoked - that itās a good thing we didnāt go out with her yesterday (on a wreck sitting in 90 feet of water to the bottom) because: āIād bend him.ā
What?? You donāt ābendā people. Captains donāt ābendā people! Wrecks donāt ābendā people! š¤¦āāļøš¤¦āāļø People get the bends - by themselves - by not knowing their limitations and diving beyond their training and experience.
If youāre a serious diver and want a knowledgeable, professional crew, this is...

I also want to note he was very involved & clearly head counting/kept his head on a swivel. Alex was incredibly helpful & even got in the water which for sure made my 14 yr old cousin feel brave enough to get in too. I didnāt end up loving snorkeling (but loved the swimming location). Unfortunately half of our group started feeling pretty sick but our crew made us feel very heard. It was my first time trying something like this but didnāt really want to be in the water looking around due to some unforeseen events. The light heartedness/respectful joking vibe turned what could have been a ācrappyā situation into a memory Iāll never forget. I look forward to giving it another honest try in the future! Bring lots of cash because you will for sure want to tip this amazing crew! Btw thereās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAni and crew are my go-to in Miami. She runs a tight ship. Organized and on time. Firm but friendly and knows how to corral the unruly types who can end up in Miami on vacation and disrupt others. Never had a problem once. On a trip she takes charge and makes sure everyone is looked after, even to snacks, hot deck showers (a first in my 40 years of diving), and provided drinks ā cold to hot chocolate. Always brings her A Game no matter the time or weather. A pro. The kind of team you want to have around with something that...
