I never provide reviews, however under these circumstances I feel obligated. If I could put zero stars or negative numbers, I would absolutely do so for this condominium building. I have stayed in multiple high rises in the USA and globally, and have NEVER experienced such a pathetically run and maintained building. I moved into this place a week into the beginning of August 2024 and had to move out by the end of September 2024 as I could not take the state of this building for another day. Besides the elevators and AC not working for weeks due to a burst pipe in the elevators with an excuse being this is an old building which it is not, not for one day since I moved into this dump did all 6 elevators work. A building completed in 2007 is far from old especially if maintained accordingly which evidently has NOT been the case here. By average, on a daily bases, if you were lucky there were 2-3 working elevators in a 50 story building and many days when only one to two elevator worked. I would have to wait often 20-30 minutes to get into an elevator which wasted my time drastically on a daily basis. The hallways stink of damp and smoke, its dirty and no one should have to live in such a state of affairs. When I moved out and booked the freight elevator (1pm-4pm), my moving company was delayed firstly due to another vehicle in their booked parking space in deliveries and the building had booked 3-4 residents to use the same freight elevator. My moving company also had to take all my items from my apartment into one elevator and then transfer to another elevator which doubled their time and hence the allocated 3 hours between 1pm and 4pm was not met. As a result, the building locked the moving companys truck, with all my belongings in it, in the delivery section and would not let them out for hours as they stated their time was up. Basically held them and my belongings hostage. Finally, they were allowed to leave after much debate but by this time, it was now already 8pm. As a result, I landed up having to pay the furniture company an additional $2000 for my move due to the extra hours that were taken as a result of this pathetic building. Under NO SITUATION should this ever have happened. To hold people hostage is disgusting and even more insulting, was this was due to poor planning on the buildings part and NO OTHER. To add fuel to the fire, I was then called by the rudest human being stating that I had not paid the $1500 deposit and $200 booking fee for the elevator, which was an outright lie. It is not my fault that the inept administration of this building once gain failed in its duties! I take great exception to being accused of that! I was the victim in all of this and building has taken NO responsibility. My near 2 months in this building, which was near 2 months too long, has cost me thousands of dollars in wasted work time, wasted moving expenses, and so many other knock on costs. It`s a disgrace. My advice is to anyone thinking of buying or renting in this condo building, please STAY FAR AWAY...
Read moreHaving lived in a couple buildings across Brickell and Downtown Miami, I can confidently say my experience at 50 Biscayne has been the worst. The management of this building is shockingly poor, and the issues here go beyond minor inconveniences—they’re major disruptions to daily life.
Elevators: The elevators are an absolute nightmare. Despite there being five elevators, only two seem to work at any given time. Waiting 20 to 30 minutes for an elevator is normal, which is unacceptable for a high-rise building.
AC Water Pipe Break: Earlier this year, the AC water pipe broke, leaving the building without functional air conditioning for about a week. This is Florida—air conditioning is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Management did nothing to assist tenants during this time, nor did the owners offer any form of rent discount or allow tenants the option to break their leases. For those of us with children, it was especially challenging, and the situation was made worse by the elevators being out of service during this period. Climbing up and down 30 flights of stairs multiple times a day was exhausting and unsafe.
Building Management: The management team seems incapable of handling the responsibilities of running this building. While they’re busy trying to paint the building, critical infrastructure like water pipes and elevators are falling apart. Their priorities are entirely misplaced, and their lack of communication or effort to accommodate tenants during crises is incredibly frustrating.
Staff: The new front desk guy is unprofessional and arrogant. Maybe racist. They fired the staff that handled the pipe burst and elevators and put some inexperienced worker.
Final Thoughts: If you’re considering moving to 50 Biscayne, I strongly advise against it. The combination of failing infrastructure, lack of proper management, and the daily frustrations of simply getting to and from your unit make this building a terrible choice. Save yourself the stress and...
Read moreIt's a shame that such an amazing building can have the WORST association/management in the entire Downtown & Brickell area. I have lived in numerous buildings in Downtown & Brickell over the years, and by far this has been the worst experience I have ever had.
I scheduled a move in date as required by the association to reserve the elevator, so I confirmed with the moving company the move in date & the hours we had the elevator reserved. The movers come & load the entire truck from our old place on our scheduled move in date, so we call the building up to let them know we were on our way, only to discover that they completely screwed up the schedule & that we weren't reserved for that day, that we had to move in the next day! That mistake cost me thousands! The association completely denied any responsibility!
The person in charge at the time was Lucy, good luck trying to get in touch with the association over the phone or via email. It's almost impossible to receive an answer unless you show up in person! Very disorganized & very poorly run association. No complaints with the building but the entire association/management needs to be replaced by a real management company.
Think twice before inquiring to move into this building! It's a shame, building is beautiful but as described above, the management/association...
