After a long day of competition on a cooler day in south Florida, hot yummy noodles were on the menu to fill a cold stomach. HOWEVER! That is not qhat happened with the service here. The hot noodles left a cold lump in my stomach.
We came in after the Wodapalooza festival to get some dinner before heading home. Seating was fast an easy though you would assume since its a table service restaurant you order at the counter then sit. Well, assuming this, you would be wrong. You sit then order and they bring you a number. We found out after waiting this was the way of things.
Our waitress came out to order pretty fast and that was the end of the good service. 2 in the party ordered only waters which came in small glasses. Being their only drink, you would assume they would be checked for a refill soon. If you did, you would be wrong. We had to wave down a waitress for a refill who came over with a huge jug but was almost out and not enough to fill our glasses.
We ordered the spring rolls and fried chicken dumplings for appetizers and the mongolian beef, chicken yakisoba and shrimp pad thai for dinner. The mogolian beef was delicious and very flavorful. The chicken yakisoba first came out with peas which had to be sent back because the diner was allergic. This was met with disdain from the waitress but eventually corrected. The chicken however, came back tough and over cooked. The Shrimp Pad Thai was lacking any spicy and over flavored with peanut sauce. After we were finished with our meals, no one came to check on us or see how we were doing. We had to AGAIN send someone up to the counter to get to go boxes and the check.
Qhen we complained, it was met with the excuses that they only had 2 waitresses and it was a small venue. I find this was hard to believe since most waistresses hard capable of handling many tablea at once. We were one of just 10 tables in the whole restaurant. Our bill eventually arrived with more "sorry" and excuses.
Overall, I would not recommend them for a return visit. There are better options in the area and the sevice is...
Read moreVery disappointing. I went to grab a bite with my bf around 10 (they close at 11). The place was empty and we waited to be seated. My bf asked the waitress where the bathroom was located and after she told him where it was, she weirdly said he couldn't go until she got our drink order... It was 10:30 and she never stopped by to ask what we wanted to eat. (I was ready to leave). We were able to get her attention and order our food (place was still empty). The food was great, can't complain. Throughout the night it just seemed they just wanted to close already (which I understand, I work in retail) but I didn't find it professional at all. We were just in the middle of eating when she brought the bill (we didn't ask for it) and I was disappointed since I wanted to try their banana cheesecake and I know I could've just ordered it but I was done by then. I was packing my leftover food and my bf was finishing up his food, it was about 10:50 when the same waitress starts to mop the whole floor (place smells like pine). I couldn't believe it. She couldn't wait until we had left? I get maybe they worked long shifts but at the end of the day it is their job to make customers feel welcomed. Definitely not...
Read moreThe incompetence here is scary! Where do they find these cretins? If the servers would just put their phones down for two seconds, maybe they could give some customer service a try.
We ordered a Chicken Noodle Soup and Mongolian Beef. The server then oddly asked us again what we ordered, so we repeated ourselves. Then, when she attempted to repeat the order back to us, she said, “Chicken Noodle Soup and Beef & Broccoli.” I shook my head and told her, “no, Mongolian Beef.” I even said it twice to make sure she got it. Needless to say, I was worried. And wouldn’t you know it, she brought me Mongolian Chicken instead. I tell her, “I clearly asked for Mongolian Beef. I said it four times.” She didn’t even apologize. I got to watch my girlfriend eat alone (and the server on her phone) for almost fifteen minutes before my correct order finally came out. The server acted like nothing happened. Never an apology. The food wasn’t even that great.
I can’t believe I paid $30 for this terrible experience. This was my first and last time at Hibachi Grill & Noodle Bar. I highly recommend you avoid this terribly...
