I hate leaving bad reviews, and even now I wish I wasn't writing this. I won't say not to use Capsule, but more than anything, I urge you to use them cautiously. In fact, I was a happy customer of Capsule for several years, and only had one complaint in all that time. Unfortunately, that complaint was nearly fatal.
I'm epileptic. I was diagnosed after already being a Capsule customer, and had anticonvulsant filled with them for over a year. It was the longest I'd gone without seizure and my life was finally under control. I was under a month away from being considered in remission. I work as a longhaul driver and my coworkers are, no lie, my parents. We drive thousands of miles on rotating shifts. I took my turn, pulled over to switch drivers, and not even 20 minutes later was blindsided with a seizure. Had it struck much earlier, I might have died and killed my family with me.
I contacted my neurologist that day, and his first question was if my pharmacy had changed the manufacturer of my Keppra. It seemed minor, but my doctor explained that generics use different inactive properties that can impact your absorption rate and drop your seizure threshold.
I contacted Capsule to ask the history of which manufacturers I'd been supplied with. For all the time they'd filled my Keppra, I'd been supplied by the same manufacturer, with the exception of the newest bottle that I had opened that morning and taken before my drive. I can't drive for six months because of my seizure, so I'm out of a job, and I dodged a huge bullet. That's how big a tiny change can be.
It turns out, anticonvulsants aren't the only drugs whose efficacy can be different across manufacturers. Even something as ordinary as birth control can be useless if you're suddenly taking a slightly different formulation, and pharmacies do not have a legal obligation to tell you when they switch. Nor is this something I'm able to sue for.
Capsule told me they could not ensure I would be notified of any further change in my medicine, but they were very helpful in transferring all of my prescriptions to a pharmacy that does exactly that.
Capsule's convenient, and especially now that I can't drive, I miss home delivery. Their customer service is very helpful and overall, they're good. I'd only ever had one problem with Capsule. Unfortunately, that problem lost me a job and almost took my whole family along the way. Proceed...
Read moreCapsule Pharmacy initially seemed like a great alternative to the frustrating customer service experiences at big chains like Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart. However, recent issues with their delivery service have left customers like me feeling disappointed and inconvenienced. Last Friday, I realized that my most recent order never made it to me, even though I had placed it early that morning online with the expectation of a prompt delivery. Unfortunately, I wasn't constantly checking the Capsule app for updates, and they failed to notify me via text or email that there would be a delay in my order. Instead, I only received a last-minute rescheduling message when I checked the tracking status with the concierge of my building. This lack of communication is completely unacceptable, especially considering that Capsule is in the health service industry. Their failure to deliver on time has directly impacted my health, as I was left without my essential medication, particularly my Metformin for insulin resistance, on a crucial day like Sunday. Now, I'll have to make the extra effort to drive to their physical location to pick up my medication, disrupting what should have been my free time to relax and unwind. This situation cannot happen again, and Capsule Pharmacy needs to address their delivery issues promptly to prevent further harm to...
Read moreUpdate: Spoke to leadership and the poor communication continues. They’re now asking for a new prescription on a medication I’ve been established on. At no point during my interactions with them, over several weeks, did anyone bother to tell me that this policy would also apply to established patients. Now it’s the weekend and I cannot get a refill on my medication and they literally do not care or have flexibility to adjust.
DO NOT USE CAPSULE.
Started out great but nothing but problems over the past couple of months. This will be my last month with them and moving to Amazon Pharmacy or PillPak. Very poor communication; items consistently out of stock, which I understand sometimes is out of their control but there's no proactive communication. One medication was discontinued by the manufacturer but they had a replacement available and this wasn't communicated - I had to figure it out on my own to then verify with Capsule if this was available. Great concept in theory but falls...
