As much as I'd love to give this place 5 stars, I simply can't because of the rude encounter at the end. The nail tech is highly skilled and talented and probably the most gentle nail tech I've ever had, however, we wanted to understand why the cost was so high at the end. My nails seemed to break down to coming out to be $115 and asked for a price breakdown. I had originally asked for dip nails and when they started to apply my nails we went straight into a gel polish, I stopped the tech and asked her will this still be strong enough so my nails won't break (I have very thin nails and had dip previously, want to ensure they don't break as it's taken some time to grow them out) she seemed a bit confused and said yes and moved on with the manicure. No problem there even if miscommunicated. At the end, we were still charged for dip powder and asked why when it was only a gel manicure. We were met with an argument that they did in fact put powder on my nails which they did not. Powder was never sat out or touched, only gel polish. (I've done nails for 10 years myself, I know what products I'm looking at and the difference between a polish and a powder.) She then says so they were not dipped but I reached in and pinched the powder and sprinkled it on? This also never took place and I was called a liar. They gave $20 back but the thing is, although the manicure is beautiful my nails are thin and since I didn't get the dip I asked for they are still quite bendy and my manicure will more than likely break in the next day or two. Upset at the price paid for what will be a very short lasting service, and also being called dishonest when it took the courage of going out to the car to even tell them that it was an unfair charge and unfair to label as a "full set". Doña Martina is truly a blessing to this earth. She curates a safe space. Everyone working at her beautiful business is a professional. The services are perfect. They legitimately take care of you and make you feel like royalty. You walk in and they look at you and think of stuff you may want before you even consider it. And if you’re down you say yes please and if not they totally respect that. They truly just want what’s best for you. Literally like the attention to detail. The perfection of the outcome of their services. And the conversations you have with everyone is just, it’s literally incredible. Just truly the nicest smartest most talented professional in the game. I feel like she saw me no pulled me out of my shell to show the world how beautiful I am. Because her and her INCREDIBLE team see beauty in everyone and believe that we were made perfectly, and with just a little cleaning up we can shine. I've been doing my nails here for almost 4 years. The first thing i heard from my girlfriend, when she recommended Martina's place was, that they have been around for over 25 years and now the grandchildren of the first clients come in for mani-pedi. Have you heard this about any other business? Especially in Miami. As to the service, atmosphere and price/quality ratio - fantastic! Im not a big fan of places that charge $10 for 5 min polish change. But quality in nails' job is something i cant agree to compromise on. Never once i had a problem with my fill in (acrylic nails) or pedicure. Always fast, very accurate, lasts for weeks. Also, they always have the most recent colors and techniques. FSN is your friendly neighborhood girls-ladies hang out, everyone is a smiley and kind, both stuff and patrons, and i think of my visits as "my girly time". The more the better!
