Yesterday, we visited the Margiela store to see the new collection in collaboration with Louboutin. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. No greeting, no assistance – just a staff that seemed indifferent.
I asked for a pair of shoes, they brought them out without any explanation or engagement. When I inquired about half sizes, they simply said, “We don’t have them”. When I asked about the sole, the response was, “I think so.” No product knowledge, no service, nothing. For $1,000 shoes, the least one can expect is informed staff. No water was offered, despite the heat, and basic questions about payment were met with vague, incorrect answers.
In contrast, just two minutes away at the Louboutin store, the experience was completely different. Music, champagne, an event celebrating fashion. The staff was welcoming, walked me through the collection, explained the materials. The only reason I didn’t buy from Louboutin was that they didn’t have my size – though, notably, they did have half sizes.
When I had no choice but to return to Margiela for the shoes, the service was just as abysmal. Staff hid in the back, and the person who finally assisted me barely engaged. Instead of a proper checkout, I was handed a piece of paper to write my phone number and email for their records.
Luxury retail is about more than just the product – it’s about the experience, the service, and the atmosphere. Margiela staff in Miami completely failed on all fronts. When a brand operates at this level, it should understand that customers are paying for more than just shoes. Almost...
Read moreI had such an amazing shopping experience with Kylah. From the moment I reached out to her about a pair of jeans, she responded immediately and scheduled me for an appointment the very next day. When I arrived, she had already prepared multiple color variations and stayed with me throughout the fitting process to help me choose the perfect wash and size.
Kylah was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and attentive—yet she made the experience feel like I was shopping with a friend. She never felt pushy, just supportive and genuine. After my purchase, she even followed up right away with a thoughtful thank-you text, which really showed her level of care.
If you’re shopping at Maison Margiela, I highly recommend asking for Kylah. She goes above and beyond to make the experience seamless...

I visited today and the employee who assisted me was great, wish I got their name :( but we bonded over Björk which...
