Manager Alison is very rude and needs retraining on customer service skills. She also needs retraining on the LL Bean return policy. I was returning a winter coat I purchased 10/24 since the zipper would act finicky when worn and the return policy is one year. The current month is May 2025 which is less than one year from purchase. She kept reiterating that it has been too long and they only take unworn clothing for returns. She also was telling me that there is nothing wrong with the jacket. She also said the cardboard tag needs to be still attached to the item for returns. She was making up her own policy for the store. I had to keep reading the return policy to her but she kept making up false policies. This went on for about 15 minutes. Eventually she gave up after me as the customer had to explain her own store’s return policy. She did the return after giving me a snarky remark “I really should have you go home and wash the jacket first”. The jacket was in perfect condition- no holes or rips or stains. I did call corporate to report this and the lady on the phone apologized for the terrible experience and she agreed with me that I should have been able to return the jacket...
Read morePretty disappointing experience on Saturday. Came in to browse shirts. An employee quickly rushed over and asked if I needed help. I said "thanks, I'm just browsing." She then very obviously followed me around the store for my entire time there (30 minute). She would pretend to refold things, but never broke her gaze from me and was never more than 10 feet away from me. At one point, I decided to test my theory and walked across the store to the sporting goods selection. She followed me there too, vaguely hiding behind a rack while staring at me. I don't feel my presentation gives off shoplifter vibes. This was my first retail experience like this. I ended up buying two shirts I liked, partially to prove a point. But in hindsight I wish I hadn't given this location my money and purchased online. I won't go back to...
Read moreReally nice clothing but a bit out of my price range. I was looking for a winter coat to take to Acadia. They definitely had those. But only 2 to choose from in long black, all black. I finally found the one I liked and it was $419. I had to put it back on the hanger and try my luck out at Marshall's across the street. I did find one there for a more reasonable amount. I very much like LL Bean clothing. The items I do own run true to size and they also offer Tall sizes...
