EDIT: after replying to this saying that “we take matters like this very seriously and this is currently being investigated,” TGI Fridays has deleted my review. Editing for some grammar mistakes and to hopefully get it put back up. I also want to say that I am posting this not out of spite, but to warn others about working at this “establishment.”
I trained here for 2 weeks as a bartender, as I wanted to have some extra bartending experience on my resume and this was the first place that contacted me. I was trained by one of the bar managers, Kylie, who started off nice enough but became rude, unprofessional, and extremely condescending toward me. it was clear that she did not think that I was capable of being a bartender, as all she ever did was criticize me, and never taught me anything unless I explicitly asked. Kylie would reprimand me for things that I had never been trained on or told, which was funny because she was the one supposed to be training me. On top of this, she would get very snippy with me about not making the Friday’s exclusive cocktails correctly, despite providing me with years outdated recipes, some as old as 2018. I also was not given access to the app with the updated recipes despite me asking multiple managers multiple times for access to this. She also kept saying that I needed to be pour tested, and even though I followed up with her multiple times about being pour tested, I never was! After the 2 weeks of training, I was taken off the schedule completely by another manager, Jonathan. I tried to contact him multiple times over the course of the next 2 weeks as to why I wasn’t receiving shifts and was completely ignored by him. He never replied to a single one of my messages, even though they had clearly gone through. I (rightfully) assumed that I had been (unjustly) fired without notice, and went in the following week to retrieve my last of 2 paychecks. Jonathan would not even come out of the back office to speak to me himself, and instead sent a server to tell me that there was no check for me there and that I had “already received my last paycheck.” This was not the case, as I was still owed payment for 22 hours of work. He then sent the server back to tell me that he’d “look into payroll” and contact me. He never contacted me, so I had to reach out to him myself AGAIN, spelling out the exact details of the hours and dates that I had not received payment for. FINALLY, he replies, saying he’ll “get back to me when he hears from payroll.” 2 days later, he informs me that I will be receiving my final paycheck on January 30th, an entire pay period (2 weeks) late. I did attempt multiple times to contact corporate to report both Kylie and Jonathan for their unprofessionalism, but unfortunately the people I was able to get in contact with at corporate (who were very kind and understanding) were unable to help me as this location is franchised, not corporate owned. Even more unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any sort of contact information for anyone at Sugarloaf Hospitality, the company that franchises this location. Jonathan and Kylie got off scot free for their unacceptable behavior. Not that I ever came here before, but I will NEVER step foot in any TGI Fridays ever again for any reason, and I will encourage everyone else I know to do the same. I truly hope this location goes under or is reevaluated with better managers and structure. When I went to pick up my last paycheck on the 30th, one of the employees there told me that Jonathan has been doing this same thing (taking people of the schedule and then ghosting them) to other employees at this location. Gross!
TL;DR, do NOT apply to this location, especially as a bartender. You will be treated horribly, ghosted completely, and then they’ll have the audacity to try and not pay you for the time that you did work for them. The worst management at any place I have ever been to or worked at.
I should say, though, that Andrea and Nicole were great. I had no problems with them at all and they were both...
Read moreI convinced my friend to go to Fridays instead of applebee's that was walking distance from Fridays. No one was at the door to greet me but that's fine because she was cleaning tables. But she placed me in the most weirdest place in there in a dark corner away from TV, people, and anything interesting. I asked her if I can sit at the higher up tables near the bar and I told her I was waiting for a second person. If the place is dead, just ask us if we have a preference in seating. My waiter had a great attitude but didn't pay attention to detail. I asked for water and he brought water with the most dirty cup I've ever seen with food still on the side of the cup. The water was exchanged. I told the waiter this is what I would like to order but I'm waiting for someone who will be out on her lunch break at 3:30pm and if the food can come out at 3:35pm. We only had 30 minutes to eat. I ordered the food at 3:15pm but was there much earlier. It was a combo of half ribs, with some chicken and fries. I also ordered a blue island alcohol drink. The food came out around 3:45pm. They forgot the Blue island alcohol drink and had to be reminded. It took way to long to get the blue drink. When we got it, it was piss warm with few ice in it and it tasted like there was no alcohol in it. So we asked the waiter to just replace it with a draft beer. Meanwhile we ate most of the food and was still waiting on drinks. I finished my water even before I ate my food and was not offered a refill. The ribs were dry and hard to pull apart. The chicken was over cooked, had no flavor except for some bbq sauce that was glazed on it. Fries were good. We ate 90% of the food and still no beer. The food was so hard to swallow that we just needed a drink. We literally sat next to the bar but not at the bar. Having less than 10 minutes left before I had to leave. I told the lady bartender that we ordered a drink more than a long time ago and my friend was on limited 30 minute lunch break. She gave us attitude with no empathy. When she finally made the drink she sat it down near her so the waiter can come bring it. It would have taken 10 seconds to bring it to us or ask us to come get it. It took almost 15 minutes to get 1 draft drink after messing up on the first drink. My waiter kept on disappearing and not communicating with the bartender and using proper time management. It was dead!!! Barely any customers in there. By the time they were about to bring the draft beer, I told them I didn't want it because it took to long to get to the table. 20 minutes with no drink at all. SMH and I still tipped waiter. We did get 2 sides of mac n cheese and it was perfect. The rest of the food tasted like a 12 year old made it out of the freezer. Service was subpar, food was questionable, bartender was super slow and moody, and people need to think outside the box. If I tell you that we only have 30 minutes to eat. Don't take forever for 1 drink on a slow day. Should have listened and went to applebees. Maybe Fridays isn't good on Thursdays. If you want good, fast, service with good food... Go to Red Robins if your limited in time but...
Read moreI probably won't be returning lets just say that. My Wife and I went for an early dinner about 5pm on a Monday, there wasn't many people dining, therefore you would assume as a chain restaurant business that the employees would be performing cleaning duties. Or that's what they should have been doing. The employees that where not bar tending or waiting tables where just standing around talking not doing anything. The floors where disgusting! Crumbs, used napkins and straws littered the floors in the walking path, as well as under not used tables (there was stuff under all of the tables I could see) The drink station was nasty that we walked by to be seated at your table. The ice bin was open with ice all over the floor and counter top. We both got Coke, mine was flat and tasted watered down so i ordered a water which my waiter forgot. HOWEVER we ordered the pan-seared pot stickers as an appetizer that where very tasty and cooked nice a crispy. But then we received our meals, I ordered the spicy beer cheese burger w fries and my wife got the Parmesan crusted chicken with mac and cheese and a fresh tomato salad with mozzarella. My burger was clearly pre made which was fine for the price of 10$, but there was no cheese no beer flavor, the jelapeno"s where SUPER spicy and over powered any flavor there might have been on the burger anyways. The chipotle mayo that I ordered on the side looked like it had been sitting out for hours and have turn a darkish orange soft crust on top. And the french fries where oily and tasted like oil. My wifes chicken was no bad, the mac and cheese was cold and needed a lot of salt. And the "fresh tomato and mozzarella" was not fresh as all. the tomatoes where wrinkly and the skin was peeling back, And the mozzarella balls looked dried out and old. Over all we were grossed out eating in such a dirty place. and the food...
