Compliment: My cashier Destiney at the MATC downtown bookstore has always been great. She checked me out just fine with all of my books. She's very kind, friendly, and greeted me with a smile. I also returned some of my books back with her as my cashier, too, and she was able to answer all of my questions with ease.
Complaint: I called the MATC downtown bookstore on Wednesday 1/17 morning and spoke with an older lady on the phone about returning my books. I asked this lady if I am able to return my books at any locations, and she said yes I am able to. I clarified with an example before hanging up and asked if I were to purchase from the downtown campus would I be able to return it at any other location, and she still said yes I would be able to return it at any location. We ended our call then I headed to the West Allis campus to return my books since that's the closes to me. The gentleman that works in that bookstore (who's always been great to me whenever I go there) asked if I was returning books that I had purchased from a different location and I said yes without thinking there's any issues. He told me that I can't return the books with him because of the tax law that just passed this year. I was very disappointed that I was misled over the phone. I went over to the downtown campus to return my books and there are no signs for book returns on where to stand in line. There is only one line to stand and wait which is the "to get textbooks" line then you go and checkout right afterwards. I was waiting patiently in the "to get textbooks" line and waited for a worker to finish with their current customer just to ask a simple question if I could just pass this line instead since I'm just returning. One older lady worker just got done so I called out to her to only ask just that but she ignored me and walked away. I kept calling out ma'am to get her attention and she said she'll be right back, so of course she had to have heard me. When she came back, she totally ignored me and just asked for who's next in line! Making someone returning books to wait in the "to get textbook" line first is such a waste of time! I was already irritated by getting misinformation on returning books so I was not happy by making another trip to a different campus. Maybe consider Destiney as a trainer to some people in that bookstore on having better customer service. Thank her for not having this as a 1...

Read more8/5/24 I just have to send a huge shoutout to Destiny and Mike at the MATC Downtown Bookstore!! I was there this morning at 8:00am. I wasn't sure where the bookstore was, so I asked a lady who was outside was at the employee entrance. She was very kind and was happy to assist me. I was so surprised to see her open the door for the bookstore to allow students inside. Destiny was very clear, concise and informative when answering questions and super helpful to me when I struggled to bring up my account on my phone. She is truly a caring employee! When I checked out, I met Mike. He explained the two different computers that they offer and told me what computer would work best for me for my studies. I told him that I was nervous about taking classes and he was very reassuring that I will do just fine. He explained return policy to me and again said that I would do just fine. Mike and Destiny are two very amazing...
