Easily one of the most charming, cozy places I've ever been to. When you picture in your mind, "cozy, corner-store café with friendly staff, college students cramming for exams quietly as semi-upbeat and mellow low-fidelity tunes bob their way through the rustic, warm atmosphere," you'll think of this place almost every single time with only one visit. In the chill of the winter months, a warm, reasonably priced cup of delightfully quality coffee brings a pleasant ebb to the flow of chaos in the bustling city. Serendipitously positioned right next to where I live, and in the heart of the Pabst district, it's a two-block walk from the MATC downtown campus and just a short hike up the hill from the Fiserv Forum. Nothing about this place could be more ideal. The comprehensive selection of coffees and beverages, the all-pleasing selection of snacks, the charming old-world look of the building and interior mixing with the college-age crowd and music choices come together to deliver an experience that is soothing and comforting at any time of day.
Take every opportunity to make the most of a place like this. We need places like this more and more these days to find peace in...
Read moreBest Place Coffee & Spirits, more like the Worst Place for Coffee. I wish I could give it 0 stars. Yesterday I went and I asked for their Iced cookie butter latte iced with oat milk. They made it wrong. They put the espresso on a plastic cup for iced drinks without ice(which it can burn the cup), then the syrups, and then milk, and then the ice. Most of the drink was oat milk. If I wanted to drink oat milk I would've asked for the container of it instead of coffee. Like it just tasted like oat milk, I had to throw away the whole drink. The two baristas making the drinks took their sweet time with it, like they would stop making drinks just to talk about their personal lives(I get it but talk while making the drinks, you don't have to stop to talk). I've been a barista before and I understand sometimes drinks take a long time, but it doesn't take over 25 minutes to make 3 drinks(that's the number of drinks that were made including mine) unless you need a blender which none of them did. Also just a tip for iced drinks you put ice first then the syrup or espresso and...
Read moreMy family, and I went in this morning for a coffee and to check out the coffee/gift shop. The staff was very rude, did not even acknowledge us upon walking in, or after we greeted them(In both the coffee shop and the gift shop). Once we did place our orders, it was as if we had to wait for them to serve all the other people, and we received ours next to last, despite having simple drinks. I don’t know if this was due to us being of color, or not, but it certainly felt that way. Overall, the situation was not ideal. The coffee, and ambience of the establishment was nice, but we were made to feel unwelcome by both the coffee shop workers and the gift shop workers. Would not recommend for...
