Mr. Shawarma — Restaurant in Milwaukee

First off the staff is fantastic. I arrived after the main building had closed but when I called they sent someone to let me in within seconds and said just call ahead in the future and they can let me in anytime. They gave extra toppings and sauce beyond what the menu stated.

They just opened recently and are already serving fantastic food. Id say it's 95% as good as the best middle eastern restaurant food I've had but at about 60% of the price. (I ordered the mixed grill which comes with steak kabob, chicken kabob, and beef kofta with rice, Jerusalem salad, pita bread, hummus and tahini sauce. The only three other places that serve this same dish in the area charge $25-30 and it was only $16.99 here!!) Their desert selection is huge, loved the Baklava!

Definitely coming back. They may only have a few reviews and I honestly thought maybe some were fake at first but there's a reason why they are all 5 stars. Can't go wrong...

Today, I had a chance to try this new Middle Eastern Pl ace in town. I cannot rave enough about the hospitality and the quality of the food. I ordered the beef Shawarma, the chicken Shawarma, tabouli, hummus, and also picked up some banana pudding. The owner was kind enough to offer us the pistachio truffles. Everything we tasted was delicious. Fresh, and homemade. It took about 10 minutes to get the food and we couldn’t wait to devour it. The hummus is by far my favorite as it is as authentic as it gets. The tabouli is a very close second and it was fresh with the perfect amount of dressing. The meat that was used in the beef Shawarma was so tender that it melted in my mouth. I had the pleasure of grabbing Mr. Shawarma on my way to a concert at the High Life Theater. Coming from Madison, I was having a craving for some good shawarma and this is exactly what I needed. I had the mixed shawarma wrap and it was generous, to say the least. The chicken and the beef were perfectly seasoned. I loved the pickles and the chili sauce it came with was outstanding as was the garlic sauce. The fries were on point and crispy. We also sampled the beef arayes and they were amazing. All in all, a fantastic shawarma spot that will definitely come back to. Prices were great and the owner was perfectly friendly....
