Tried on 3 occasions to give this new Ace a chance. It’s a definite no for me. Three strikes is a pattern. Not an accident. My first trip I purchased a few home improvement supplies. Was given a coupon for my return visit. On the way out the wheelbarrows caught my eye as mine was busted by a contractor. Ended up buying one. After checkout I said “oh dang! I have that coupon you guys gave me.” The guy looked at me and said “oh well.” Really?! Second visit: walked in, not greeted. Store was empty and cashier just hanging out there. Got what I needed. Went to check out and asked if they had deer corn and buck yum. It’s literally 20’ from the checkout. He pointed. Just pointed. So I went and lugged a 40 lb bag of spin cast to the counter. No one else in line. Thanks for offering to help a woman out. That would have NEVER happened at Ace.
Final visit: had to return the spin cast. It was FILLED with tiny bugs with pinchers. Again walked in. No customers in line, but jo greeting from cashier. Brought in a gallon bag of it and brought it to the counter. Was told I could get a refund. I asked if I could get a bag of corn instead. “Sure.” Again no offer to help grab one as I’m standing there in a sundress. So I say “ok I guess I’ll go grab one.” Then - instead of offering to help - or even starting my return, the guy helps the people who just walked up behind me. So I lug the 40lb bag up, he looks at me and starts ringing them up. Are you kidding me?!
Customer service is nonexistent. This is SUCH poor etiquette - and apparently something that can’t be taught.
I will not be back. We miss you...
Read moreI have been in a couple of times , most recently I went in looking for a bag of deer corn ; most places 8 to 10 per bag ; the three men standing around asked if I needed help ; Asked where the corn was ; he showed me and it was almost 16 per bag ; I said wow that is a little high ; his response was "well then don't buy it " and walked off pissed off acting; I did not really know what to think, but I left the store and I don't plan on going back , this would have never of happened at the Monroe hardware previously; I would recommend the Ace Hardware in Locust if you want to go to an Ace It is well managed not like the one...
Read moreWe drove from Rock Hill, SC to Mint Hill, NC for a grill that was only in stock in a couple nearby locations. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately and shown the Recteq grill we wanted. In addition, Tim came on the sales floor to fully educate us on the grill, how to use it, how to do the burn in, and basic care and maintenance. He even shared a few recipes. After the conversation and purchase, he had it loaded in my vehicle with a smile. I did not expect the type of service we received, so I’m willing to make the drive in the future.
