I've lived here for two years and will be moving out at the end of this month. First, I'd like to say that Aaron, Tobin, and the team at Miller Diversified have always been great to work with and very responsive to any maintenance issues and/or other concerns I've had. I really appreciate them. The units are beautifully designed, with exposed loft-style ceilings and open spaces, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer, and plenty of closet and cabinet space. The building is clean and the property is maintained very well. So many things are within walking distance, too, which makes it a convenient location. The reason I'm moving out and can only give it 3 out of 5 stars is because the acoustics in the building are horrendous. There are no acoustic panels on the ceilings or walls and no acoustic insulation IN the walls. This seems to be an important detail that the architects neglected or ignored when they designed the building. With the high and exposed ceilings, this causes any noise to bounce all over the place and penetrate walls. You can hear your neighbors talking, their dogs barking, their tv, kids screaming, clanking of kitchen cookware, when they entertain company...basically everything. Sometimes you can even hear word for word what they're saying. White noise will quickly become your friend if you have any sensitivity at all to noise or audio frequencies. In addition, the building is supposed to be a 'gated' community with keyless entry and specific times allotted for open access via the elevator. However, several of the units are short term rentals, aka, VRBO and AirBNB, which means there's a revolving door of new people every month. I was told by management that there's a vetting process for these people but not what that process is. I originally thought that possible illegal activity was taking place next door because of how often I was seeing new people come and go. I found out from a neighbor with the same concerns that they were short term rentals. This was never disclosed to me by the building management and only confirmed after I had asked them about it. So, my question is, how can a building truly be secure when you have that many people coming and going so frequently? Some of those people are quiet and respectful and others are loud and obnoxious...and you WILL hear them. I've lived next door to one of these short term rental units and it has been an ongoing issue with several noise complaints submitted to management. However, since management does not manage the VRBO and AirBNB units, they can only give the occupants a warning and then it is up to the discretion of the management companies of those units to cancel the rental early, issue a warning, or simply ignore it. The noise clause in your lease can't be enforced by management when they don't manage all the units in the building. Catch-22. Having said that, if noise is not a concern for you, and you don't have any issues living next door to a short term rental unit, than I would recommend living here. However, if this IS a concern for you, then I would recommend you look elsewhere because it will quickly become a point of irritation, distraction, and...
Read moreMoving to the Gateway Village has been the best experience we have ever encountered moving into an apartment complex. The main reason for that is strictly because of Venessa Flores and Tobin, the maintenance supervisor. Venessa was always accessible and professional. The rare times she wasn’t able to answer our calls, she always responded in a timely manner. She really addressed any concerns we had about moving in. She did so with patience and professionalism. She really made our moving experience hassle free and seamless. Tobin is great also. First of all, he’s really a very nice person. It’s really important to him that the tenants are truly happy and satisfied with their units. We asked a lot of him before moving in and he more than met the tasks. He works extremely hard to keep everyone satisfied. We look elsewhere and found a co of very nice complexes. Although the Gateway Village is very nice as well, it was Venessa and Tobin that made the difference for us! In addition to being really good people, they are very thorough and professional. It really was a pleasure to working with them both. Lastly, the apartments are secure and solidly built with detail rarely seen in...
Read moreI am a travel hospice nurse and found a nice Studio Condo at Gateway Village. Vanessa was a huge help in getting everything in place for my move in. Very friendly, professional and patient every step of the way! Brandon greeted me when I got there & was very helpful as well. Vanessa and Tobin (maintenance) came by the next day to help with some things. Tobin was very polite, friendly and said to call about anything. The next day Vanessa tirelessly helped set up my internet with good results! Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, I needed to move locations and started working with Grace. She was extremely helpful, professional, and worked late into the evening and early the next morning to help find me a townhouse in a city nearby. She made the transition very smooth and easy for me which I deeply appreciate. Being in a new town and not knowing anyone it’s always nice when you find a team that makes you feel not only welcome but very supported as well. I really look forward to living in the other townhome for the next few months and working with this amazing team. Highly...
