Edit & Update: After receiving a reply on this review, I contacted the email they left and never heard back from Metro Diner. Do with that what you will. Original Post: Wanted to give Metro Diner a shot so we went in. The wait staff was nice and attentive, the following does not reflect on them in any way. The food however was the reason I won't be returning and it won't be recommended to anyone from me. We ordered the cheese fries appetizer with no jalapeños. The fries were okay, some burnt cheese on the edges. Bacon on the fries were nice quarter size chunks. The thing that turned us off about the fries the most, was the salt. Way too much salt. I suspect they use a season salt and forgot the salt is apart of that? They would've been perfect if weren't for so much salt. I tried the mango sweet tea and it was nice, very refreshing. Had to chug a glass of it after the fries. The main entree I ordered was the fish n chips with a substitute of Mac n cheese instead of coleslaw. Upon first look, the fish was nice in size and appeared golden brown. I did have issue with the fish being stacked on top of fries on such a small plate. The fish was almost falling off, and couldn't get to the fries underneath. After some rearranging, I quickly got a wet gooey batter taste from the first few bites of fish. The edges weren't bad, but the middle of the fish fillets weren't cooked long enough. Regardless of the raw batter, the crispy parts of the batter weren't seasoned. No pepper or lemon flavors that you would expect from fish. It wasn't edible. The Mac n cheese was flat with no flavor, and a very soft texture almost like baby food. The other entree was the All American Burger: Lettuce on the burger was shredded and mixed with mayo, almost a coleslaw consistency. The meat was not flavorful, seasoned, or juicy. My mom couldn't finish even half of it. Nothing impressive about this burger. Normally if we don't finish food we take it as leftovers, but this food was not edible. We left feeling like we wasted $40 on food and our time. Two stars for the mango tea, crispy fries and wait staff.

So I'm mute to the city and I wanted to choose a mother highly recommended restaurant. Cell metro was unfortunately, service and food denied make my top 10 restaurants so far since I've been here my order specified some ingredients that I do not want but it definitely be not specified other ingredients that I wanted more of there was no greeting when answering the establishment or even waiting to pick app your order. I seen servers rushing to make sure they got the food out, but there was no brainly faces no one asking, have you been held? I even overheard one server at the bar taking a father and daughter order rush the little girl because apparently she had other things to do. She asked a little girl what is she wanted for her sides and the little girl what was thinking, so she decided to put something down some fries instead if that doesn't scream great customer service. However, there was no place to check your food to see if it was correct or if needed to be alter. I thought that was a little disturbing but even still, I waited till I made it home. Check my order and I noticed right off the top that something's for missing on my meal. I noticed that it was full of mushrooms. I don't know when did I recommend extra amount? But this was a little over the top for a Western omelet. also, there should have been a substitute for people that don't eat pork, but even still. We made it through. It's not likely that I will return.

I decided to come here based off some of the photos. The food looked good. It's a decent alternate to IHOP and First Watch if, they do some cooking improvements. I had the pancakes, with grits , scrambled eggs, home fries and sausage. My friend had the steak and egg bowl. The pancakes were thin, a little chewy and had no color to them. The pics show a different shade. I've tasted alot better pancakes but these were edible. The grits were very smooth and creamy. Not gritty at all. However, they were very thick and had been sitting out for a while. I was scooping out chunks of grits that had taken the shape of the bowl. Again, they tasted very good but was too thick. The scrambled eggs were brown on the bottom. The toast was cold so I didnt eat it because the butter wouldn't melt. The home fries were good but I did get a mouth full of seasoning from some of the potatoes. The sausage was fine. My friend liked her steak and sausage bowl although she would have liked the steak bites to be a bit more tender. All in all its not a bad place. Maybe because they were so busy the food quality seemed to be rushed. I'm ok waiting a little longer for good quality food. Yes I will probably go back if I want something other than IHOP. If the results are the same as the first visit, I won't go back after that.

I never say anything about experiences places however the one I just had here was absolutely horrible. I will NEVER go back! I order sandwich with NO onion. The waitress brought it out i looked at it it had onion, I said I'm sorry this has onion. She immediately apologized and said I told him no onion, but he doesn't listen to me all the time. She took it up to the kitchen. Which if you have been there you it's all open. She told him he got loud with her said no it doesn't have onions. She asked him to please remake it. He is yelling at her saying it was fine as he starts to remake it and is slamming everything around. So everyone eating can hear him. My mother in and law and husband respond stating yes it did have onions. We felt bad for the waitress she was getting yelled at by the cook for asking to remake the sandwich. So she comes over and apologizes for his behavior I told her to just cancel the order all together cause I didn't want anything made by him if that's how he was going to act and I ask to speak with the manager. The waitress states that is the manager! I was like wow! So the waitress goes to tell the manager that I requested to speak with him. Then this other guy comes out I ask are the manager, he said I'm one of them. I said oh ok I thought he was. This manager said the one that just threw the massive fit was the managing partner of the resturant, his name is on the door. He absolutely apologized for he handled it and offered to make the sandwich but there was nothing he could do because the guy who acted a fool was his boss. Jessup Manning the managing partner for Metro Diner treated his staff horribly infront of customers, acted like a 2 year throwing a tantrum and had no customer service. I will never go to Metro Diner again nor will I recommend...
