This is not my first time playing this course but I felt that my experience today will help everyone understand how family friendly this course is.
My 3 year old daughter loves golfing with me. I tried to take her to another course and they wouldn't let us play because it was just her and I. We have done this a dozen times by ourselves with 0 issue, but that is beside the point.
I knew we could play at Aero Club because we have done it a few times in the past. I show up and pay for my tee time. The attendant at the counter was very nice and let us go on the back 9 so there were no groups around us. My daughter ended up getting tired from the heat so we had to cut the round short. We went in the clubhouse so we could use the bathroom and the guy at the counter asked how things went. I told him about my daughter. He immediately offered her some water and offered me a rain check.
This is my go to for something to do with the family. The course has greens comparable to most of the local courses. The price is very reasonable for locals and they genuinely want you to have...
Read moreAn unfortunate series of events, that were solely on the place of business. Arrived after a 12 hr day driving from SW Florida for our Annual Golf Trip, we had a tee time for 5:55pm and the place of business promotes itself as a night course: Our party was told it would close at 7pm upon arrival; keep in mind, this is 18 holes to try and finish in just over an hour. That sounds fun to do, right? A communication method to let us know they were to close at 7, knowing we would not finish in time wouldâve been professional. We got thru 9 holes around 6:45 pm with 15 minutes left on the game clock. As we walk across the parking lot to approach the 10th hole, a voice bellowed out, âWe close at 7â.....which is about 2-3 holes more for a place that had over an hr of sunlight left; the math doesnât add up. False advertisement, to say the least. Practice in your backyard and save the overpriced cost of playing. Btw, your âcoolerâ that is free after purchasing 6 beers reminds me of an 80s PE Teacher bringing his own...
Read moreTonight, I played @theaeroclubshortcourse across the highway from the runway at Myrtle Beach Airport. It's a 18 hole Par 3 course that ranges from 58 to 106 yards, depending on flag placement. Only 1 of the greens was in bad shape. The rest were fantastic but a tad slow. Who cares about that when the greens are well kept. There's only sand on 1 or 2 holes, that's it.
The guy who checked me in was nice and helpful. It's $30 for 18, and for the area, even being a Par 3, it's a good deal.
You will have both Commercial and Naval Aircraft taking off or landing, depending on the wind direction. It can get really breezy here, so clubbing up or down is critical.
It's a nice break from 5900 to 7000 yard courses.
There's also specific parking for each branch of...
