Basic breakfast for a reasonable price. In 1955, two Georgia neighbors opened a 24 hour sit-down restaurant that has now expanded to over 1900 locations in 25 state. This no frills breakfast eatery offers a limited menu of eggs, waffles, pancakes, hash brown, bacon, sausage, grits and breakfast bowls. Counter side booths offer a simple approach of friendly service straight from the grill to you. Three crispy strips of bacon, four halves of thick, buttery toast, couple scrambled eggs (my choice) and fried hash browns was to my liking. And easy on the wallet.

The Waffle House is iconic in the South. My husband and I ate there twice during our holiday stay in Myrtle Beach. Both times we had good food and prompt, friendly service. My husband ordered the All Star breakfast and I ordered an Angus burger. I could have easily eaten a double order of the crispy brown hash browns. Waffle House coffee is also very good and, if you use cream, it is served with real half and half. A great value, two people can eat well for around $20 to $25 including tax and tip.

I love Waffle House but this was the worst experience ever! We waited 45 minutes just for a seat because they didn’t clean the tables so it was empty tables just dirty plates on them so we couldn’t sit down. Finally sat down and I had a bug in my drink, flys everywhere, nasty attitudes food was cold this was definitely the worst experience at a Waffle House! Also line was out the door they had no sense of urgency also it was only 5 workers

I would recommend going to the Waffle House on 501 instead!! The difference between these two Waffle Houses is huge! The service at the Kings Hwy location is average(putting it nicely). The service; however; isn't the main reason for the 2 stars. Wow! Where do I start! The jukebox was set wayyy too loud!! This wouldn't be a problem if the tourist family in the booth to my right had not played some 1990s funk music! Use your imagination for the rest. Next, the grits were so clumpy that they were nearly inseparable!! The sausage was very similar to chewing on a shoe sole, & the toast was crunchy as nachos around the edges!! As a whole, the meal was horrible & the atmosphere wasn't much better. I had to ask the waitress to wipe down the table I was about to sit at & even then, she only made a half hearted effort to wipe it down with a smelly dish rag that also needed cleaning!! The air conditioner was on full blast in the fall. It felt like I was sitting in a walk-in cooler!! This was the worst dinning experience I've ever had but it was a very close 2nd!! The Hwy 501 location is exactly the opposite. The service is excellent! Words can't describe the culinary genius that goes into the cooking: eggs cooked to perfection, sausage is tender & juicy, the grits are smooth as silk!! Yummy! The atmosphere is great: jukebox at the right volume to be ambience not overwhelming, perfect room temperature, & spotlessly clean!! Don't take my word for it. Go to the Myrtle Beach Hwy 501 location, get spoiled & well catered to! Then go to the South Kings Hwy location, be horribly disappointed & ignored half the time. Then write...

I only go to Waffle house because my boyfriend loves to go to them in the south, it's a ritual on our vacations.

We go in, all seats are full except bar so we grab a place at the bar, right in front of the dishwashers who happened to be foreign and not speak English. We sit for at least 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from anyone including the dishwashers who are right in our faces scrubbing uneaten food off of plates. Finally a cook acknowledges is to point out the best item on the menu... but he's busy and good back to cooking. there are some other girls just standing around looking at us but no one takes our order. By this time there is a line at the register right beside me and an elderly man tries to get the dishwasher's attention and says he's going to leave without paying if no one wants his money. The dishwasher motions to someone else. Finally another girl comes out of the back, finishes waiting on the line and finally takes out order, it's been at least 20 minutes at this time and they are no longer busy, tables are empty with only a few customers. Good was quick one order went in, which consisted of one girl standing about 6 ft away and yelling the items to another girl who was on her phone. it was strange. Food was ok. Line is backed up again with no one at the register and girls standing around, I slip in line before girl had a chance to leave...

Terrible. I work at Waffle House myself and this was the worst service I've ever had. Our waitress, Erica, had a very bad attitude. Acted like we were a hassle. When she took our order I told her I wanted my grits in a bowl (for my daughter) and my bacon well; I waited for her to write it down before I told her the rest and she just looked at me and shook her head with an attitude like she did not care how I wanted my food. When my food came out my grits were not in a bowl and my bacon was not well. I asked her if she could put my bacon back on to make it well and if I could get my grits in a bowl and she sighed, grabbed my plate, and walked away. When the server re-delivered my food she put it down, did not say anything, and walked away and did not check back on us at all and intentially looked away every time she walked by. I was about to start eating when I noticed there was a big hair in my eggs. Since I couldn't get my server's attention I had to ask another server if I could get some more eggs. She kindly helped me out. Later on I heard our server asking the other salespeople who stole her loose change off of her table and kept trying to argue with them on the floor in front of the customers. I do not know what our server's problem was but she was very rude! Everyone else seemed to be very nice and friendly. This was just a very...
