They have a wide variety of guns. Their website advertises certain guns as in stock with a listed price. Upon visiting the store, they will have same model available but with different accessories with a higher price. Staff was somewhat knowledgeable as far as the general model of a series of ar15s but didn't know the difference between competition grade builds and sporting builds among that series. I did find the build I was looking for. I also was trading in an AR15. Lowballed me on value, which is expected for this particular business. I informed them of an issue on my trade in before doing paperwork regarding a loose pin on the A2 fixed front iron. It's a $2 part and easy to install. They examined it before paperwork, and were handling it after paperwork when the CSR brought it to my attention the pin was now missing. He vagrantly complained about it being missing and how now he would have to install a new one in order to sell it. Not my fault it dropped out unnoticed by them. Basically tried to make me feel like I was at fault somehow and was ripping them off. It's a $2 pin that they probably can get for 89 cents. It takes less than a minute to install with no tool. They lowballed me on trade in value, and didn't honor the online price of the rifle I was purchasing. They also displayed gestured annoyance with me taking off the high end aftermarket accessories to my trade in despite me telling them from the start that I just needed to remove my aftermarket accessories from the rifle. They also charge 3% for purchases with a card, and restocking fees if you change your mind about purchase once they start filling out paperwork or ringing it up. From here on I will just continue to do my business with Impact Guns of Boise as I've always been treated exceptionally well there. Impact Guns staff are also more knowledgeable, and will take the time to help you pick out exactly what you want with no hassle, no falsely advertised price online, no deception. Overall Idaho Gun & Outdoors staff made me feel like I was doing some sort of shady business. *update to respond to gaslighting from CSR... thank you for publicly confirming the lack of quality customer service. Between my review and many others who've had blatant negative experiences in ethics and customer service from the staff at Idaho Gun & Outdoors, I believe we all can't be telling some shortened alternate version of what takes place in doing business with you. You destroy your own credibility in challenging and gaslighting customers who inform of you an unpleasant experience with your business. The negative reviews you receive are incredibly more than any other sporting goods/ firearms establishments I've come across, and I've done business with many between Idaho, Montana, and ND. In place of fixing problems with customer interaction or improving upon it, you use gaslighting. For this, I'm downgrading my 2 â review to a 1 â. Wish I could review you into...
Read moreAs a matter of personal preference, I like supporting local small businesses. I prefer to pay cash and I don't like to order online unless the price is radically different. I needed more magazines for my new handgun and since everyone locally seems to sell them at full retail, I decided I had to order from The Mag Shack for $12 each less than the retail price. Before hitting "buy" I tried one more thing, looking at the Idaho Guns web site. Yay! They had these mags on sale for $7 off retail. It's a little more than I was going to pay with shipping, but not too much. I like that store, it's close and they have a great selection.
So, I went over there today, and was surprised to find full retail prices on the mags. I assumed they'd match their web site prices when I asked at the checkout. Nope. The cashier talked to someone in the back, "Sorry, those are online prices only. By the time you paid our shipping you'd be at full retail anyway."
I can't believe any businesses still exists that doesn't understand that in this economy, many of us price shop before driving to the store. And nowhere on the listing does it say online only.
I'm a good customer, I've bought guns from them in the past, mags for other guns, and lots of ammo. But needless to say, today I left without the mags and will send my $112 to a business in Florda.
The moral of the story, if you live it Nampa/Boise, you pay full retail on all gun accessories. If you live somewhere else and order online, they are happy to give you a discount. Good luck with that business model Idaho Guns!
As a final slap in the face, when I got home 1 hour later and checked their web site again, they'd raised the online price on those mags to almost full retail!
I'm giving them two stars instead of one because I will likely go back there again. The frequently have some ammo prices that are good and their selection is good. But I will never look at their...
Read moreWow what a horrible place to do business with. I ordered a pistol online and paid for it with a credit card online. I found after the purchase that it wasn't exactly the one I wanted and asked for a refund. Apparently there is a 20% restocking fee which would be about $140! I never received the gun. In fact, I contacted the store which is here in Nampa (went in person BTW) and nobody in the store could help me. "That's the website which is run by the warehouse. We don't have any control over that." was the response I got. So I called the phone number on the website and talked to a salesman at the Boise office (store?). Same response. Nobody I could talk to via phone only the contact form on the website. I received an email from Scott Stirrat stating that I would receive a refund according to the websites' stated return policy. Well, the website doesn't say anything about cancelled orders only orders received by the customer. When I replied with this info Scott changed his tune and now says that a restocking fee will be charged because they special ordered the gun I purchased. Nowhere in my order does it say anything about a special order. It says "In Stock" on the website. And to make matters worse, the websites' stated policy is that "special orders" are not refunded. So I will now have to contact my credit card company and initiate a dispute on a purchase I never received, on an "in stock" item to which I may lose over $140 because this company apparently hates their customers. I did offer to have them switch the order to the gun that I meant to purchase but it's painfully clear they do NOT GIVE A DAMN about their customers or their experience. I suggest you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH IDAHO GUNS AND OUTDOORS. If you do, I sincerely hope your experience is better than mine was. I will follow up on this review if they change their tune and treat me with the courtesy a customer deserves. (not...
