We reserved three bikes weeks in advance for all day on a Thursday. Due to expected bad weather, we were able to call the day before and change our reservation to Friday. The shop was easy to walk to from the ferry terminal. Service was friendly and there were lots of folks working to help each group get their bikes, seats adjusted, etc. The bikes worked well and were in great condition with a handy, deep wicker basket. Directions for getting out of the town to the bike path could have been a bit better, as we did spend more time than necessary riding on the cobblestones and with traffic in the center of town before we figured out (after several stops and looking at maps) where to go. Enjoyed the ride to Siasconset and back – going on the Milestone Road bike path and returning on the Polpis Road bike path. Paths are nicely paved, mostly flat with a just a few dips/hills, and nicely separated from the cars by a grassy median. Note that in Nantucket town, there are some places where you have to ride on the road, some places with a narrow shoulder and a busy roundabout to go through – but we found that the drivers were courteous and alert to bike riders. We spent 4.5 hours on the bike ride – including biking to the Sankaty Head Lighthouse, lunch in Siaconset and a walk around the town of Siaconset with several photo stops along...

We booked our full-day (24hr) 5 E-Bike rentals, online, with Young's about a month before our trip to Nantucket for the Daffodil Festival. The website was easy to use and contained the information we needed. We arrived on our pick up date, just as the shop was opening and were greeted warmly. We got in the clearly marked line to pick up the rentals/helmets and checked in. A service person readied the bikes for us & helped us make any adjustments then gave us a quick tutorial (since all of us had used an E-Bike in the past). He then gave us directions to get out of town, using the most direct route to the bike path without too many cobblestone roads! We made the 14 mile round trip ride to Sconset without incident. It was a beautiful day. Also, we returned to the bike after shop hours(we did not keep the bike 24 hours). The return area was clearly marked and directions on where to drop the bike lock key was posted. We would definitely rent from...

I recently rented an auto from Young's and had a mixed experience. We have rented bikes there many times and always found the staff accommodating and helpful. This time, not so. I called in advance to indicate we would be returning later than planned on the day of our return, and returned 5 hours after our original time of pick-up. I expected to pay extra, but was unhappy to hear that would be a whole day's rental. When asked why a whole day, the staffer said abruptly "its a whole day to me". Instead of going into the shop and buying T shirts as we had planned, we walked away thinking we'd try another shop next time. Its the off-season, and a time for a little courtesy and to win loyalty, but that was just...

I had made a reservation for an ebike about a week ahead of time as I needed it for a historic bike tour I was going to. I arrived as scheduled and the owner, Jasper, was behind the counter. He promptly got me all set up, and explained thoroughly how to use the bike. Offered me a map or any guidance about where to ride or my time on the island. As a frequent visitor, I knew where I was headed but appreciated the offer. I was returning the bike after hours & he informed me of that process. Young's bike shop has a great reputation and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody looking for a bike rental.

Renting electric bikes allowed us to tour the island in such an immersive way. We absolutely loved it and would do it again. We are 73 and 55 yrs olds. We would not have been able to cover as much ground if we were on normal bikes. We did about half the island in 6 hours. We also got to rest at Cisco Brewers which was super fun. Young’s was well priced and so easy to pick up and drop off. I can’t recommend this highly enough!
