My stay at this establishment was awful from start to finish. We were given the code to enter the room ahead of time. Upon arrival we entered the code for the room but once opening the door we see the cleaning crew in our room. We were all initially frightened but then became very confused because check in time was a short time away and the cleaning crew refused to let us in and disabled the code to enter the room. The crew was cold and hostile. I would like to add that we only arrived 45 min before check in. Being that we were sitting on the floor with our luggage, we were left no choice but to call Sonder and ask for early check in. Unfortunately, we had to pay for early check in even though we were under an hour early. The customer service was robotic and did not acknowledge we were minutes away from check in time. Instead, they continued to process our 'early check in' request where at this point we were barely checking in 30 min early after all that was said and done to process payment, etc. As other reviews have stated, within a short time of checking in we all noticed what resembled a bed bug in the couch. We took our chances and spent the night and just as we suspected we all woke up the following morning with bed bug bites. We contacted Sonder by text and their customer service was insulting. We were pleading for a reasonable solution but all they could initially offer was to move us but at our expense! After continuous texts back and forth Sonder did not offer a reasonable solution. At our expense we had to pay for a stay at the Hilton so that our health would not be compromised any further. Sonder’s only remedy was to have an employee inspect the room but after waiting 10+ hours, we never met, heard from, or saw any Sonder employee regarding the bed bug problem. We asked for a full refund but did not hear back. In short, I do not recommend booking a stay at Sonder. Just as you enter this building, you will notice it is not clean and welcoming. There is no front desk to help you with any concerns and their only form of assistance is a lousy text messaging system where no solutions are offered. And above all the bed bug infestation is a huge concern considering the lack of urgency our situation was shown. Bottom...
Read moreI’m very disappointed to stay here.
First having no front desk is not convenient. I had received 0 instructions about time of check-in and how the instructions. when I arrived there I was asked to follow a certain instructions online. Not everyone can find a coffee to sit and do the check-in using their bank information and taking pictures of their ID and themselves. It’s not safe to do it online while in the street specially at nights.
Secondly my room wasn’t like the pictures online. It’s different and lacks furnitures. Yes similar to the online images but not that good quality ( not bad either but not like the posted pictures 🤷🏻♂️)
Third I found out blood in my blanket. It was the most disgusting thing. I am in a trip for school and after my travel and waiting from 7:30 AM to 3:30 pm just to check-in, I was tired and just wanted to sleep. I didn’t notice until later that it seems somebody else was bleeding on this blanket cover before. My stay was 3 days and by the time I noticed it, it was already late so I just left without requesting a new one.
2 Elevators. 1 is out of service all time and the other is so slow. Apartments has laundry and people wash their clothes at night.
Checking out was also a trouble to me as they don’t have a front desk and this caused inconvenience in the process and I had to chat with them for another 2 days after I checked out to make sure their payment went through.
Reason for giving 2 stars:
1- every time I chatted with them, the costumer service people are so kind and caring. This could let you ignore some of the negativity because of their welcoming to you and them trying to solve issues even if it’s online.
2- the location of the place is so convenient. With all of the things I mentioned above, I didn’t like it personally but I think it’s an okay bad choice if you’re traveling and want to save extra money from going to a hotel in that area ( but I actually wish I went to...
Read moreI was disappointed overall with this "hotel". The location is OK but the neighborhood is a little on the shady side. As others have noted, there is no parking, no luggage storage (you have to go find an offsite luggage storage place and pay to keep your bags there), you are pretty much on your own to figure out any of the expected "hotel services" you'd expect if you stayed elsewhere.
Everything you want/need to do is through their app. The "registration" process takes a while (download the app, find your booking details, enter credit card info, take a picture of your license, take a photo of yourself standing in the parking lot, etc) this is all done in the parking lot before you can get into the building. There is no hotel staff available or lobby to sit in and do all this. Then, the app won't unlock the door until 4pm (super convenient). I called requesting access at 3:35. Nope "Our security protocols are very strict". What? So you'd rather have me sitting in the hallway for 25 minutes with my luggage that I had to pay $10 to store 7 blocks away for security reasons? Smart...
We stayed 6 nights and were provided with 2 towels. You have to go to the Ikea cabinets in the elevator hallway to get more towels. Hope you get there before the rest of your floor does...
Business travelers beware, if you book through a travel agency, you can't get a final receipt either. The app tells you to get it from your booking agent. Not sure how or why THEY would have my final statement but... Ok. Overall it was not a great experience but on the plus side, the room was adequate.
For the same money, you can stay at a number of well-known extended stay hotels in Nashville and have all the amenities and services you'd expect and not have to deal with the inconveniences of the...
